She has been walking on eggshells all day. Her daughter's friends who she considers family, are speaking in hushed tones, like if they spoke even a little louder than normal the girl sleeping upstairs will break.

Sana gives Momo a worried glance.

"She hasn't said a word since the members dropped her off yesterday."

Mina's mother sighs.

Romeo sits quietly in a corner.

She knows that it is unusual for a puppy that small to lay still. It's almost as if he's hurting because Mina is hurting.

"We need to give her time."

Her husband says in a sombre voice.

She nods. Her motherly instinct tells her that this divorce is real, that her daughter has feelings for Nayeon.

She hopes to god she's wrong. She hasn't heard one good thing about the idol so far.

Mina has always defended her, said she's really sweet when you got to know her, but she's seen the hurt far more than she'd like in her daughter's eyes to believe that.

Turns out she is right in the end.

When Mina emerges from her room after two days of silence, Jeongyeon says softly,

"Babe, you must be starving. Have some toast."

She notices her daughter's eyes change from vacant to confused to shocked.

Like she's just realised where she is.

She sees tears streaming down the face she so dearly loves.

"Darling." She takes her hand tenderly.

"Mama?"

She hears her voice tremble and sees her body shake. Her heart clenches painfully.

Mina looks so vulnerable, so little, sitting there, looking around like she is trying to get a grasp of reality.

Her aimlessly wandering eyes finally settle on the piece of toast Jeongyeon offered.

And she finally sees the dam break.

"Shsssh."

She holds her daughter in her arms as tears wrecks her body.

"It's over mama." She sobs.

Tears stains her shirt as she shudders in the her embrace.

"I was in love with her. And it's all over."

She feels her own eyes moisten. She kisses the top of Mina's head several times, holding her that bit tighter whenever fresh set of tears ravaged her.

Sana and Momo gather around their friend, hoping they can somehow pass their strength to her.

Joengyeon seethes with anger. Angry that someone has hurt her best friend, broken her and left her in pieces.

"It's not a dream. Is it?"

Mina asks as she looks up at her, tears gushing down her ashen cheeks.

The older woman doesn't how to answer to that. She wishes she can say it's only a dream, if only to take her child's pain away for a moment or two.

"It's really over."

She hears gut wrenching sobs that tears right through her chest.

She strokes Mina's hair, wiping her cheeks every few seconds. The youngest Myoui isn't crying so much anymore, but she can still feel slight tremors quaking her fragile body.

"You know what's horrible?"

Mina chokes out a wet laugh.

"She saw me as a contract worker. As a whore even."

Everyone flinches like those words burnt them.

"But she never saw me as a girl who was completely, madly love in with her."

Mina speaks to nobody in particular. Like she just needs to say these words to get them off her chest.

"I still miss her. Isn't that horrible?"

A solemn tear falls down the blonde's cheek.

The older woman doesn't know how long she holds her, how long everyone huddles around them, until she falls asleep in her arms.

"I'll carry her upstairs." Jeongyeon offers.

She nods.

Her chest feels like someone is trying to rip it out, because her child is hurting and there is absolutely nothing she can do about it.

She watches Jeongyeon carry Mina upstairs.

She watches Romeo and the other girls follow them, faithfully by Mina's side.

She hates Nayeon for doing this to her daughter. She hates that she doesn't have the power to change any of this.

"I'm going to have a word with Nayeon."

Jeongyeon says when she comes back. She looks beyond pissed.

"I'll go with you."

Sana looks equally mad.

She understands where they are coming from. They love their friend dearly. It is hard not to love Mina.

She has lived close to half a century in this world, and swears nobody she's ever met in her life is as special as Mina is. Mina is a sweet and gentle soul. She loves and cares for people without expecting anything in return.

And Nayeon has taken all of that, all of which makes Mina the pure angel she is, and given back a destroyed girl.
