Unpredictable.

If her life can't be tucked into that box before, it certainly can be now. She avoids the eyes that bore into hers, the gaze too intense and familiar for her to be comfortable with. To even pretend she is comfortable.

Can we meet?

It starts out with a simple text. Three words, yet her heart feels like someone has pulled it out of her while it is still beating and only becomes worse seeing him in flesh.

"Mina." His voice is a quiet whisper as he tries to meet her eyes.

She stares at the ground. Why him? Why now?

"Mina, please look at me." He sounds defeated, as destroyed as her.

Soothing down the tense muscles in her neck, she tries to contain the sob that threatens to break out from her chest.

He tries to meet her eyes again, but it is firmly locked onto the ground.

The silence is getting too uncomfortable, they aren't used to dwelling into one around each other; always having the ability to hold a conversation with ease.

"Why oppa?" She holds his gaze, her heart fluttering like it always did during the initial stages of their relationship.

"You." He begins, his words seems choked, "You were my fiancée."

She nods her head, she doesn't need a reminder of what she's lost because she hasn't forgotten it.

"I am aware." More so than she can admit.

"And now you're a lesbian? Married to a despicable woman you'd have never associated with in real life?" He scoffs almost spitefully.

She doesn't expect the immediate surge of anger that quickly rises in her heart.

"She is my wife oppa. Don't talk about her that way." Her defensive tone startles both of them.

"You expect me to believe it?"

She avoids his eyes that looks into hers, trying to search for a speck of honesty.

"Mina, I spoke to Jeongyeon. Please don't be mad at her, I swear she hasn't told anyone, just me."

He knows.

There is a loud rush of blood in her ears, too loud for her to even think. It clouds her thought process.

"I haven't told anyone either Mina. You can trust me."

She trusts him. How can she not? You don't date someone for years and want to marry them without trusting them.

"T-Thank you."

She leans back on the couch, the remnant of tears in her cheeks, hands clasped in front of her nervously fidgeting trying to wrap her head around what she is feeling.

"I'm not here to cause you any trouble." He scratches his chin, a gesture she is all too acquainted with; her lips almost quirks into a tiny smile knowing he is as nervous as her.

"Why are you here oppa?" She surprises herself with the honest question.

"I miss you." She does too, but she doesn't voice it out. "Can we be friends?"

Here, she dares to release that smile that has been trying to break free for quite some time.

"Okay."

"Okay?" His voice is laced with a vulnerable tint she hasn't heard from him before and it only makes her resolve stronger.

"Okay."
