Light creeped into her vision as Lexi felt herself waking up. As soon as her eyelids fluttered open, she quickly shut them again at the bright light of the room. But as her body slowly started to gain full consciousness, the feel of soft breaths on her neck and a secured arm wrapped around her waist made her eyes snap open. She didn't move her body, but her gaze slowly creeped down to the boy attached to her.

Jack's head was buried in the dip of her neck, his lips brushing her skin and his hair covering half his face. His arm was gently locked around her waist, and he wasn't awake yet but somehow his grip tightened and he snuggled closer. She couldn't stop her heart beat from picking up at the closeness, and if Jack were awake then she knew he would notice. Her eyes darted over to the digital clock on the bedside table. It read 8:34am.

Pulling her bottom lip between her teeth, Lexi slowly and carefully shuffled away from the boy. She let his head fall onto the pillow as she sat up, then picked up his arm and lifted it off her body. A long sigh came from Jack as she let go of his arm. She froze.

A soft groan left his lips as he stretched his arm out for her. But when he found that she was out of reach, he opened his eyes.

"Hello." He spoke, his voice hoarse from sleep.

Lexi glanced over her shoulder at him, an awkward straight smile on her lips. "Hi." She said, not sure what else to say. She hadn't woken up to someone like this before. "We should get up. Sam is probably wondering where we are." She added. It wasn't true, Sam probably didn't think anything of their absence, especially her. Lexi rarely ever made an appearance before 9am, but Jack was often up early.

Jack nodded, blinking to wake himself up. He pulled the covers off his body and sat up. Now that he was up, his bed-hair was more noticeable. Pieces of hair stuck up, while some fell over his eyes. It was an odd look for him, since his hair always seemed to be perfect. But Lexi liked this look on him, it was different, yet adorable.

After Jack was up, Lexi excused herself and left the boy alone in his room. Once she was in the safety of her own room, her head started to recollect the feel of his body against hers, his breath on her neck. As she was getting changed, she didn't notice the smile left on her lips at the thought of him, not until she was about to leave did she wipe the smile away.

Jack caught up to Lexi in the hallway. They didn't exchange many words, just a friendly nod of acknowledgement and Lexi making a comment of "how did you manage to fix your hair in less than five minutes?", to which he simply shrugged and gave her a sweet smile.

Voices came into earshot as they approached the library. Context wasn't needed to understand the end of the conversation.
