It had been days since Jack had killed Michael. They held funerals for all the hunters. None had survived. Jack hadn't spoken much, he'd been reserved from the others since he got his powers back. They'd try to get him out his room, but he wouldn't.

Lexi had spoken to him the night after Michael died. She asked him how he felt, how much of his powers he had back, if his soul was still intact. But he dodged all her questions. So, she gave him some space, stopped asking questions and just sat with him. She eventually fell asleep at his side. And when she woke back up, she was back in her own bed. She assumed Jack put her back there, but she wasn't sure why. She had slept in his bed numerous times. Why not this time?

It didn't bother her much. She only wanted to know if he was okay.

Lexi pressed a soft knock on his bedroom door, chewing at her lip anxiously.

"I'm fine Cas!" Jack called from inside.

"It's me." Lexi spoke through the wooden door. It was quiet on the other side for a moment before she heard some shuffling inside. Eventually, the door creaked open and Jack's face appeared, a small smile on his lips.

"Hey." Lexi said.

"Hi." Jack moved to let her inside. He shut the door behind her.

His room was clean, bed was made, desk organised. Nothing that signalled anything wrong. But Lexi stilled asked.

"How're you...doing?"

Jack sighed, tired of hearing that question, "I'm good, Lexi."

"Jack, you say that, but..." She trailed off her sentence when she saw the deadpanned look on Jacks face. She didn't want to push it. "How's the snake?" She changed the subject.

Jack shrugged, "I don't think he's feeling well." Jack moved over to the snake's box on the desk, looking down at the small reptile, "He won't eat."

Lexi peered round how shoulder to get a look at the creature, "Maybe he's depressed. Probably missing his owner."

Jack hummed at her answer before turning around the face her.

Lexi didn't want to bother him with questions, he seemed to have a much shorter temper lately, but she needed answers. "Do you...have all your powers back?"

Jack slowly nodded, "I think so. But I feel different now, not like before, if that makes any sense." He turned to look at her.
