It had been days since Lexi had fallen into the apocalypse world, or had it been hours? She wasn't sure. The concept of time had left her as day and night blended into each other. But it felt like she had been there for months.

The tight cuffs dug into her wrists as she fiddled with the chains. The uncomfortableness of the wooden chair that she was seated upon didn't effect her as she stared at the events in front of her.

When they arrived in this world, it didn't take long for the angels to find them. Specifically, Michael. He had kept them captive, questioned them constantly on how to get to their earth. He used mind controlling methods, with the help of Zachariah, to dig the information he needed from their heads. This had been a routine for them since they got there.

In the centre of the church, that they learnt to be Michael's base, Jack stood with Zachariah's hands on his head, meddling with his mind. At first, Lexi would yank on the chains and yell profanity filled threats at them, but she gave up after she saw Jack was in no pain. She kept her head down as she listens to their conversation, as if she weren't even there.

"Zachariah." Michael's deep voice spoke over the loud thundering, "These games of yours aren't working."

"We're close." Zachariah said, looking at the boy in front of him who had a blank and dead look in his eyes. "I'll keep trying."

"And you're sure this half-breed is our ticket to the other side." Michael questioned.

"Yes. " Zachariah reassured, "And not just a single one way ticket like the prophets spell. This boy, he can open a rift big enough to march an army through. There's so much power, we just need to make him use it."

"Then make him." Michael commanded.

Zachariah nodded, "I know something that will break him." He said. Then his eyes shifted to the other person in the room. "And what of the girl?"

All attention turned to the head of blonde hair in the corner. Feeling dark stares on her, she hesitantly raised her head to look at the angels, daggers in her eyes.

"She will come in handy." Michael stated, strolling over to the girl. He stared down at her, making her feel small as she glared up at him. Michael sneered before turning back to Zachariah, "Now, back to work."

The time that Zachariah spent inside Jack's mind made the room fill with sharp silence, even with the loud thunder echoing through their ears every minute. Lexi kept her eyes trained on Jack, watching him as if keeping an eye on him would protect him. She didn't know if Zachariah was succeeding, but she had a hunch that he was not. Jack was too smart to break that easily.
