For the first time in years, Lexi didn't wake up with the reminder of her problems. Instead, she woke up with the reminder of him. Whether it was due to how he lived in her mind 24/7, or whether it was because he would sneak in her room at night to sleep by her side, she always woke up with him on her mind. It had been three days since they became...something. They didn't know what they were, they didn't exactly discuss the terms of their relationship. But they were happy, and that's all that mattered.

In those three days that they had been together, it seemed Lexi couldn't get a moment away from him. Since he could openly show his affection towards her, he followed her everywhere. Not in a creepy 'I'm stalking you' way, but more in an adorable puppy way. It was sweet. He would wake her up with kisses in the morning, bring her coffee, immediately offer her his jacket if she shivered. He even tried to follow her into the shower once, to which she found adorable but still made him wait outside.

It wasn't one-sided affection though, Lexi also couldn't get enough of him. Like today, as she sat on his bed with Jack's head resting on her thigh between her legs, her hand lazily playing with his hair while quiet music played on the record player. They were still in their pyjamas, Jack in plaid pants and a t-shirt while Lexi was just in shorts and a tank top. Before this, Lexi had been the one with her head resting on his lap, his hand in her hair. But after a while, he begged for them to switch. To which she replied with a murmur of 'five more minutes', but eventually she gave in when he gave her a persuasive kiss.

Lexi held her phone in her other hand, effortlessly scrolling through recent news articles, but it was hard to concentrate as Jack drew circles on her thigh with his finger. Even though it had been days since they became something, every touch still made her heart race.

"What song is this?" Jack asked softly as a new song came on the record player.

"Hmm, I don't know." She replied in a lazy whisper, "It's one of Dean's vinyls." She did know the song, it was All right now by Free, but with Jack's fingers gently brushing against her skin, her brain simply stopped working.

"Deans music is weird." Jack thought out loud, "It's all old."

Lexi chuckled, "I'm pretty sure he secretly listens to Taylor Swift in his spare time."

Jack laughed, it was soft and lazy but his smile was wide. "So do I."

"Hey," Lexi held up a defensive hand, "We all do."

They smiled. They were happy for a moment, something they both forgot how to feel. It was a foreign feeling that only visited for a second. But when they were together, happiness stuck around for longer.
