Alexis Winchester has never been one who communicated her emotions easily. She usually just rambled random words and hoped that whoever was listening would be able to piece them together. Lexi didn't like to open up to many people, especially not new people. The only people she had ever really trusted enough to open up to was Sam and Cas, rarely ever Dean despite the trust she had for her eldest brother. She loved her brother but Dean had a tendency to say 'suck it up and move on', yet she knew he still cared, deep, deep down. Overall, it took a lot for Lexi to open up to someone.

However, it was different with Jack. She felt something she couldn't quite explain, some sort of comfort around the boy. Despite the small amount of time she had known him for, Lexi felt like she could trust him with no regrets.

As she watched Jack stare up at the daylight peaking through the trees above them, she wanted to thank him. It sounded odd but she was glad that Jack was there, in this world, with her. If he weren't there with her, she knew that she would be utterly lost. His intelligence and comfort was something that made her grateful for his presence. Therefore, she wanted to thank him.

But before she could utter those two words, the boy in question quickly stood up and pointed across the clearing. "There's Mary." He announced, rushing towards the blonde woman.

Lexi soon followed behind the boy as he approached Mary with a pleased smile. As the woman stared at the young nephilim, she let out a soft sigh. "You really like it here." she stated.

"These people." Jack smiled, "Everyone's so brave."

"But we can't stay."

"Why not?"

Lexi stayed silent as she glanced between the two. Based on the look on Mary's face, the answer was clear.

Jack's smile faltered, "Because of me."

"I'm sorry, Jack." Mary apologised, "It's not fair."

"Mary's right." Lexi hesitantly sighed. Jack turned to face her, but she couldn't bring herself to look in his eyes of disappointment. "The people here are trying to hide from angels. Bringing one into the camp isn't fair on them." She said as she fiddled with the zip on her jacket. Reluctantly, she brought her eyes up to look at Jack but immediately regretted it. The disappointment washing over his face made her quickly look away again.

She thought Jack would say something, perhaps protest and beg to stay. But he didn't get a chance before sirens started echoing through the camp. The three looked around as people were frantically running past them, yelling to take cover.
