"I don't understand." Castiel paced within the debris.

They were in panic mode, and Jack had been escaped for all of three minutes, Lexi was counting. It helped keep her calm and bury the anxiety.

God, she knew that was a terrible plan. She told them, and they didn't listen. Jack's retaliation can be lethal, they had no idea what chaos he could cause.

Cas frustratedly sighed, "The Ma'lak box can hold an archangel."

"Jack's not an archangel." Lexi shrugged, running a hand through her tangled blonde hair.

Dean stared at the destroyed box and the rubble that surrounded it, "Yeah, apparently, the kid leveled up."

"So, what do we do?" Asked the angel.

Dean turned to meet his blue eyes, "We find him." He shrugged.

"How?" Cas frowned up at him,

Dean shrugged with irritation, "I don't know, Cas. You tell me." He snarked.

"Okay," Sam spoke up, trying to break the tension, "The last time we found Jack, it was by praying to him, but that's not gonna happen again." He recapped.

"Yeah, you think?" Dean scoffed.

"I don't know why you're getting snarky." Lexi glared at her brother, "This was your idea, Dean." She shook her head disapprovingly.

The man barely glanced at her for a second, but the cold look in his eyes would've made her shudder.

"You should never have tried to lock him away." Cas added.

Lexi looked at the angel that stood beside her. In the midst of her brothers poor ideas and opinions, it was nice to have Cas backing her up. She always saw the angel like a third brother, or maybe more of a fun cousin, but he was family either way. He was the only other one who cared for Jack as much as she did.

Dean glanced over Cas, "You know what? You're right. I never wanted to put him in that damn box. I wanted him dead!"

The words stuck her deep as Lexi stared up at her brother like a stranger. He was unrecognisable in his cloud of anger. The way he spoke about Jack almost disgusted Lexi to hear. Two years ago, Dean said the same things. But now, things were different and the Dean she thought she knew had viewed Jack as family. Yet, once again, things had changed.
