Chapter Twenty-Eight - Imagine

**JADE's POV**

"Thanks guys." Darren beamed at each of them one last time and took me away with his hand wrapped around my waist.

I swear, that was probably the hardest ten minutes of my entire life.

When our classmates were out of our sights, Darren then finally took his hand away from me. I had enough of his touch. I was even sweating a bit.

God, all this acting is making me crazy!

Weeks finally turned into months and I still don't know who Darren's freaking ex is. I was even trying to be patient, damn. Everyone knows that Jade Rodriguez ain't patient. Well fine, not everyone.

"Uhm Jade," Darren spoke up. "I'll just have a word with Ian and his friends right there. Be right back." I nodded as he shot me one smile before heading to Ian and his friends.

I could say that that smile just made my day.

I then pulled out my phone from my pocket to check the time. 4:15.

Just when I was about to walk towards the vending machine to buy a drink, I caught a guy approaching that made my whole world stop.

"Hey," Ryan lets out a friendly smile and stopped right in front of me. His hair was messy and he looks tired, but, he still looked damn attractive.

Without waiting for a minute to pass, I threw my arms around his neck and attacked him in a tight hug, grinning. "Oh my God, Ryan."

I miss this guy. So much.

Ryan chuckled and suddenly hugged me back. I swear, I loved the soothing feeling of being hugged by your best friend, but then I noticed a sudden change of my attitude.

Whenever Ryan hugs me back, I always feel like being shot by a bullet that contained hundreds of butterflies. Maybe even dinosaurs. I always bite my lip in order for me not to grin so wide. The powerful spark was there. Always there.

But now there wasn't.

I frowned a little at this but just broke our hug and plastered a smile, pushing the thought of digging deeper about that topic away. What's important is: Ryan is here. My best friend is here.

Ryan again gave me a smile. "Woah, Jade. It probably felt really bad missing me so much. I'm sorry for that." he teased and I rolled my eyes.

"Not so much, you bimbo." I rebutted, forcing a glare. Ryan just stared at me as if he didn't believe my statement, until I finally gave up. "Fine. I missed you so damn much."
