Chapter Twenty - Sparks & Fireworks

**DARREN's POV**

•Day before New Year

I woke up in a breezy morning and yawned before dragging myself to the balcony.

When I got there, I looked up at the sky and saw that it was still dawn. It's probably around five am right now. The sky's color near the horizon was getting blue and the sky above me right now was not as bright as the sky at the horizon.

The moment a New Year's breeze blew through me, causing my hair to dance slightly by the wind, I smiled.

I just love this feeling. It feels so relaxing.

I smiled again at the image in my head of me hugging Jade at the sleepover days ago.

Dang, what is happening with me?

Get a grip of yourself, Darren! You shouldn't hug her like that! Not always! She isn't even yours!

But I just can't help it. She's too damn huggable. I bet I really looked like an idiot smiling so big while in that hug. I admit it, strange shivers were starting to invade me, and hundreds of them attacked me in that hug.

And I can't believe it; I kissed her. I don't care if it's only in the forehead, but hey, it took me almost all of my guts to do that action!

I wonder what Jade felt. I bet she now hates me. She didn't even said yes yet and I already kissed her! On the forehead, at least.

I sighed. It's been weeks since the day me and Jade made the plan. I don't know if she's getting any more willing to continue this. Is she tired? Is she irritated?

Then as if a light bulb popped out above my head, I smiled.

Me and Lynelle will be going to a beach along with our guardians tonight for fireworks. I could invite Jade, and her parents, for them not to think that I treat them as trash.

Later could be a perfect time to ask her how she's feeling right now. I'm kind of worried about her, knowing that she'd never been in this situation before. I just want to ask how she's doing.

But what if she's already tired in acting? Should I stop with the plan? Leave my ex?

No. I mustn't.

Just as I was going to go deeper in my thoughts, Lynelle suddenly stormed inside my room, causing me to look horrified.

Dammit. Why's she here?

"Good morning kuya!" Lynelle plastered a happy grin on her face while hopping like a bunny towards me.

"Lynelle, why are you up already? I mean, it's still early." I told her, driving her away completely not my intention.
