Chapter Thirty-Four - Blue
J A D E
Darren and I didn't have any communication for three days.
At class, I always take glances at the back to see him. This was to annoy or to creep the hell out of him so that maybe he'll demand to stop my weirdness soon, but unfortunately that plan didn't work.
Your plans are always dumb, Jade.
But I'm dying to hear him talk to me again.
Rain is pouring moderately from the thick gray clouds in the sky as I hid my hands in the pockets of my jacket to keep them warm. I stopped in front of my locker and unlocked it, pulling out a few of my books afterwards.
Today is going to be another regular, Darren-less day, I guess.
Just when I was about to close my locker Jessica suddenly came out of nowhere carrying a bunch of books with her. She looked a bit scared and stressed.
"Jade, thank goodness you're here, can you do me a favor and check if my answers are correct? I was answering this in a rush last night since I had to answer other assignments and projects." she spoke, politely if I may add, handing me her math book.
Now this is strange. Jessica doesn't do this.
I nodded and took her book then looked at her answers.
Why me, though? Not that I'm complaining.
Out of the blue she answered my last question getting me creeped out because of her mysterious ability to read a person's mind. "I know you're the smartest in the class and I trust you with your answers." she cracked a smile.
How did she do that.
"Not really," I replied in a small tone and chuckled.
Jessica doesn't compliment me.
After checking her answers, which were all correct, I gave her book back. "'not a single mistake found." I smiled.
"Oh thank god," she sighed in relief. "I bet my tutor's going to be proud of me. She went through hell in just making me understand our math lesson." she laughed heartily.
She has a tutor?
"That's great. Good job." you can't blame me for talking like this. Jessica is acting really different. But not the bad different, definitely.
I actually like this Jessica.
"Thank you so much for helping!"
"Anytime."
I closed my locker and thought that she already ran off, but she's still standing next to me. "So, uh, how are you?" she asked.
