Chapter Two - The Promise

**JADE's POV**

It's another Friday morning here at the cafeteria with Ryan and Ericka. We are busy studying for Algebra right now since there's a test later. Damn, why does Algebra have to be so hard?

I still can't get over of what happened yesterday on the way to the library . I shouldn't have went there. If only I knew that that bastard was following me. . .

What's wrong with him anyway? Why me? What makes me extraordinary above everyone else? I'm not pretty and hot just like the other girls here. He should've chose the popular chicks here instead of me who is dull and boring.

And it's also a good thing that I didn't see his face since early morning. He would always go to the lobby with his peer before classes, and I'm glad that he wasn't there.

Yep, my instincts were right; he wasn't in his mind yesterday when he asked me to be his damn girlfriend. Maybe he drank something that made him do crazy things and he's on his bed now, resting.

But is he?

"Hey Jade. You're spacing out again!" Ericka suddenly waved her hand sideways in front of my face with a bored look. "That was the third time you just stared at your yogurt doing nothing. Wait, can I have it?" she asked with a giggle.

"Ericka. . ." Ryan, who was sitting beside me smiled and we chuckled.

"Sorry. I'm just cheering Jade up. She's been so quiet since first period. What's the problem, huh?" Ericka asked , leaning closer to the table , ready to listen.

Speaking of Ericka, she never told me what her problem is. Even the topic. I don't know if it's about grades, family, school, life, or love. She always tells her secrets to me, and sometimes Ryan, but I find it very peculiar that she wouldn't even give a clue about this one.

"I slept late last night because I watched a movie called 'Beastly' . I really liked the story plot so I can't stop thinking about it. Yeah." great, now I'm stammering.

"Oh yes. Beastly brought by Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens. I also liked it. It's kinda similar to the fairy-tale Beauty and the Beast. Although there were some parts added." Ryan butted in with a smile.

"Are you sure it's about that movie? I caught you spacing out three times already and isn't that too much for just reminiscing a movie like that?" Ericka queried, getting suspicious. Ugh, this girl's too brilliant.

But I mustn't give them a clue about it. I know that they're going to freak out in that, especially that Darren was the guy who requested. They hate Darren a lot and they're going to beat the crap out of him if they'll find out . I don't want to create a war here .

"What? It's amazing. You should watch it , man." I suggested with a faked smile, secretly changing the subject.

"Hm, are you hiding something, Jade? That look of yours tells me that you are." Ericka accused with a brow raised. Oh please Ericka, don't make this difficult!

"I definitely won't. We promised to share each other's secrets, right? And who am I to break that?" I reasoned out.

I already broke it. It's unbelievable; I kept a secret which needs to be shared to my best friend because of that bastard? What the hell! What did he do to me? It's like he'd hypnotized me or something. Weird.
