Chapter Thirteen - Cupcake, It's Cold Outside

**JADE's POV**

Sweat was falling down from my forehead to my cheeks, my mind bombarded with a lot of dilemmas as I paced back and forth a multiple times in my room.

I'm still afraid to show myself up to Darren after what happened last Saturday. All my questions were answered yesterday by him, and that's what only brought my guilt to the highest level.

He was actually trying to protect me.

It's been weeks, or maybe a month since our plan and I don't know if things are getting better. I still never heard about Darren's ex and I think later is the perfect-well not really 'perfect'-time to ask him about it.

I never expected things to go this far. I thought all I have to do is to act and poof, she'll be back, but no. Darren changed a lot from being so arrogant, to being protective.

I can't believe this plan actually pulled us closer.

One hour left before two and I'm still here deciding if I should go. How will I say sorry after the rants and yells I did to him? Will he even forgive me?

There's only one way to find out, I said to myself.

I pulled out a random back shirt with the words 'I want abs, but I want pizza more' printed on it and an aqua jeans, throwing them to my bed. I rushed downstairs towards the bathroom, taking a warm bath.

After about ten minutes I went out of the bathroom and ran upstairs again. I shoved the clothes I prepared on my body and wore black lower-cut converse. After that I ran towards the mirror, tying my hair into a high ponytail.

I checked the wall clock as it read 1:23-Woah, my favorite time pattern. I got out my phone which was on my bed and dashed downstairs again, kissing mum and dad's cheek.

"We'll be leaving for Canada after a few weeks, darling. Have we told you that?" dad said after he kissed my cheek.

"You will, mum?" I faced mommy with surprise.

"I guess so, Jade. Me and your dad will take care of business there." mum replied with a weak smile, knowing that I'll miss them so much.

"For the clinic?" I asked again.

"Kind of. Me and your mum were planning to put up a toothpaste company. Is it cool for you?" dad queried back with excitement written all over his face.

Enthusiasm instantly shot me. "That's great news, dad!" I cried. "Good luck with that! For now, I guess I'll be going. 'Gotta friend to talk to." I stated as I headed to the door.

I was going to step a foot outside when mum's speech stopped me. "If you're meeting Darren again, kindly send my kisses to him!" she chirped sweetly.
