"Come on, Jisung, just give him a bit of guidance

"Come on, Jisung, just give him a bit of guidance. He needs it."

"But Dad, I don't think I can. He's one of those difficult ones..."

"He's just a good kid who made some bad decisions."

The father and son were folding laundry together, one trying to convince while the other trying to be convinced. "And he's an omega, so I doubt he'd want to hang out with an alpha. Most of them are pretty hostile towards us."

Mr. Park was deflated. If Jisung really didn't want to do this, then what could he do? But it seemed like he was just making excuses, so maybe he just needed another push? Either way, he wasn't sure which bridge to cross. "If you were in Chenle's shoes, wouldn't you like a hand to pull you out of that darkness?"

The alpha paused and looked down at the socks he was balling up, a slight frown creeping over his face.

"I'd do everything I could to get you out of there if you were in that situation, as I am for Chenle, but sometimes someone your own age makes the difference."

But the omega has friends, Jisung sighed in his head. He wasn't anti-the-idea, but it wasn't like his classmate was alone. Soon enough, a pair of arms wrapped around him and pulled him into a fatherly hug.

"He's been through some things. I think he needs an exterior force to work some magic."

He hugged him back and sighed. Of all the omegas in the area, the one his dad had been talking about for the past few years was Zhong Chenle. It was strange. The guy was a bit of an anti-conformist even at school, and was well-known. In fact, not everyone knew his secondary gender... Almost all of the omegas at school used that particular brand of suppressants that fully masked their scent and could be mistaken for betas. The alphas often dared each other to pester non-alpha classmates into telling them their secondary gender. Alphas were obvious because they never took those types of suppressants, but omegas... not so much. "Alright, if it'll make you rest easy."

His dad patted his back and returned to folding the washing with a big smile on his face. "Thank you. I hope it makes a difference."

Another Monday morning like any other. Chenle yawned as he pushed his books into his locker, mind mulling over the awkward thoughts that Park Jisung was probably going to be in school today. He was never absent. He'd probably go around telling people that Chenle was a charity case and had to leech off him until he stabilised himself. Yup, that's what most alphas would do. That's what Jisung's friend group would do.

The two didn't know each other, but they knew of one another. After all, Jisung got some of the best grades in the school. Chenle got some of the best reasons for detention. The alpha male also was very popular because of his, well, alpha-ness. Jisung was someone who was liked because of his nature to try anything, including smoking in the bathrooms and behind the school (behaviour that his oblivious father probably knew nothing about, based on how complimentary he was of his son). The group of friends that Jisung associated with were quite the obstacle for non-alphas like Chenle, who just wanted to go about their daily life without being prodded for their secondary gender reveal.
