'Hey, Chenle! We're planning to spray-paint the old warehouse tonight. You in?""Sorry, I'm working tonight," he apologised.
'...You've missed three meet-ups as of tonight. Try not to miss the next one. Be there.'
The alpha on the phone didn't realise he'd used his 'voice' when he said 'be there'. It wasn't like he could control Chenle through his voice, but certainly made him feel bad about supposedly neglecting them. He hadn't been, though. Jisung just managed to get there before he could do anything the last two times.
He put the phone down and packed up his work uniform into the little backpack. Since Donghyuck was still technically on his heat, he wouldn't be there tonight in case the smells of the alphas there set him off. Poor guy. He was back in school today though, and was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed... probably from the previous day's medication. It generally tried to control any risk of mood swings and often resulted in lots and lots of energy. Mark had been over the moon that Donghyuck wasn't actually dying, as he had been told.
An incoming call surprised him and he snatched his phone off the island, sliding the icon to the side after seeing Donghyuck's contact. "Hello?"
'Hey, Le. You're taking a shift tonight, right?'
"Yup."
'Mark was saying he was thinking about going down to see you. He was considering taking Jisung as well. That alright?'
"Yeah, absolutely." He curled his hair around his finger and leaned against the island. "Is it really a good idea for Mark to go there though? After what happened last time..."
'...As long as they don't recognise him then it shouldn't be an issue. Besides, it's been like, two months. He's never had as much to drink since that night and I'm sure he won't ever again.'
It was actually rather comical how such a mild mannered boy like Mark could turn into Tarzan... using the lounge sofas as his trees. Well, alcohol. "Tell him he can bring Jisung. I'm sure that tight-ass needs a break from studying. Smoking and pestering isn't the answer."
'And alcohol is? You'd just be jeopardising a different internal organ. But anyways~ If you're worried about Mark and Jisung then only give them my usual. A soft drink.'
"Bye, then."
The phone call ended and he scooped up his backpack, sliding it over his shoulders and exiting the flat after locking it.
After waiting a few minutes near the school gates, Jisung and Mark met up and the older alpha led the way to the bar. It was an orange sky that spread above them at this hour of five o'clock.
"Dude, Donghyuck won't be coming tonight," Mark sighed as he slipped his phone into his pocket, having just ended a call with him. "He must still be feeling sick or something."
