"What's the 'Zhong Chenle way'?" Renjun asked hesitantly. The light from outside was blocked by the giant tent cover but it still streamed in through small gaps and assaulted the eyes of the unfortunate few who happened to sit where the light reached.Donghyuck didn't need to explain. He simply raised an eyebrow and gestured to their friend. "Exactly what it sounds like."
Chenle had decided as soon as he saw the sandwich that it would taste like foot so he pushed it to the side and leaned on his elbow. He looked at Jisung, who was braving the sandwich. Their eyes met. Chenle winked. Jisung ignored it.
"But doesn't he do that all the time?" Renjun whispered.
"He'll up the ante now."
"Will Jisung even be able to tell?"
Donghyuck took an extended pause, watching the alpha skilfully deflect Chenle's flirting as though he wore a flirt-proof vest. "To be honest, I think Jisung is teasing him."
The rest of the tent was packed. Jaemin and Jeno seemed to be much happier than before, but Chenle didn't want to ask about it just yet. He'd wait until they were in their room at the hotel, or at least until they were alone. He traced his finger along the grooves on the table and tried not appear as sick as he felt when he noticed that the egg in Jisung's sandwich was green.
"I'm missing those BLTs from the hotel," Mark admitted.
"Nectar of the gods," Chenle agreed.
Jeno and his gangrene reached across the table to scoop up a piece of egg that had fallen from Jisung's sandwich onto the bench. He didn't even look at it before shoving his finger into his mouth. Chenle wanted to scream. It wouldn't be lactose intolerance keeping Jeno on the toilet tonight, anyway.
"Okay," Jaemin began, "so between the lot of us, we've done zip-lining, the rollercoaster, rock-climbing, laser tag, paint ball and the obstacle course high off the ground. So do you think we should do something as a group this time?"
Jisung lifted his head. "I saw an archery range."
"Yes," Donghyuck shot, slamming his hand down on the bench. A piece of egg slipped through the cracks and onto the ground below. They were all a little startled at the outburst but the omega showed no sign of realisation. "Archery. We have to."
Mark looked at everyone's faces. "If Donghyuck wants to do archery, then we'll do archery." He said this in a tone that prevented retaliation, but they all seemed eager to participate so his tone was rather redundant.
Chenle shrugged. "Fine by me."
Jisung looked at him with a faint smile. There was an all-knowingness about him as though he could read Chenle like a book. If he could, then he'd be reading the ravenette's excited thoughts. He hadn't tried archery since primary school.
