"There will be a school trip, for any of you who haven't heard about it yet," the teacher sighed, knowing that a lengthy few discussions would happen around him.Chenle leaned over to Jisung and gave him a chill smile. "Sounds fun."
"It does, but is your boss flexible?"
"Yeah, relatively. He should be able let me switch my shifts around."
Jisung nodded and gave him a soft thumbs-up. There was a tenderness in his heart as he looked at the ravenette happily count up his wages on his fingers. He was just so cute. The hand he had made into a thumbs-up lifted to hold his cheek as he leaned on the desk, watching Chenle's concentrated face.
"After deductions for necessities at home, I have enough saved that the trip's expenses shouldn't be a problem."
"If you need extra, I'm sure we could help you out."
"I'm a strong, independent man, Ji. I've been keeping money aside for occasions like this." He held his arm out and tapped his biceps comically. "But thank you."
The alpha nodded again slightly, still watching him as though he was making a national speech. I wonder where we'll be going...
At that thought, the teacher cleared his throat with the most uninterested expression on his face. He just wanted to get on with his maths class. "As for the destination, the idea was toyed with for a while. It appears to have been decided that you'll be going to an adventure park."
An adventure park? Chenle hummed and narrowed his eyes to Jisung. "So... that'd be stuff like high ropes and zip-lines?"
"I guess." He shrugged. Still sounded fun, but the alpha wasn't a huge fan of adventure parks. He once went to one with his mother and father when he was ten and broke an arm. Not a fabulous memory.
The omega wasn't great with heights. He remembered having to change a lightbulb at the children's home one time, a few months before he turned eighteen and left the place, and he had felt queasy the whole time he was up on the chair. It was only a small distance from the ground but it still managed to make him uncomfortably dizzy. "I bet I'd beat you to the finish line," he grinned, masking the slight vertigo.
Jisung, too, pretended he was one-hundred-percent up for the trip. "I'd like to see you try. I'm really good at obstacle courses."
"Then you're on."
"Likewise."

"Apparently we'll be staying in a nice hotel."
Chenle blinked at Renjun in surprise. "The school is spending that much money on us? Wow."
The shorter boy nodded in agreement. Renjun didn't know if he was able to go or not, considering his parents were quite strict about his whereabouts. They knew he was having a hard time at school and didn't want him to have to deal with his classmates for any longer than the school day. They tried to talk to the principal to tackle the treatment, but it never seemed to do much for his situation.
