Mark and Donghyuck looked absolutely wrecked

Mark and Donghyuck looked absolutely wrecked. Laser tag mustn't have treated them nicely. The alpha was eating a messy sandwich (that he'd nicked from the food tent) and gulping down water, but his boyfriend merely sat there in thought, trying to block out the noises Mark was making. There was a sign beside where they had perched themselves on a low fence.

"Still kicking," Donghyuck noted, saluting Chenle's arrival.

Said boy kicked at the dust and dirt track. "You betcha."

"Ow, my eyes!"

"Sorry Tarzan."

Mark wiped at the tears now leaking from his ducts and tried to blink the dust out. In his blurriness, he pointed at the sign. "Paint ball, climbing frame and another rollercoaster are further down." But he had rubbed coleslaw into his tender eyes.

Chenle glanced at Jisung with a pursed smile. "I'm done with climbing for today, so maybe not the frame."

Jisung seconded that. Before a decision could be made, a commotion broke out that reached their ears from afar. Chenle and Donghyuck made quick eye contact and a mental message passed between them: that was Renjun, right?

They grabbed their respective alphas' hands and pulled them in the direction of the noise down the trail. Poor Mark had tears streaming from his eyes. He knew he shouldn't have chosen the coleslaw sandwich with an overkill of onions.

Up ahead, Renjun was trying his best to push Jaemin back, his hands planted firmly on his chest and all his strength pressing. A couple of classmates were watching with gormless stupor, only able to whisper whisper whisper about whatever had just happened, but Chenle couldn't quite figure out what it was; only that it had made Jaemin really angry. And where was Jeno? He thought they'd all gone together.

Jisung was the first to step in and pull his friend back. "Jaem, what's going on?"

Jaemin strained and yelled profanities at the group of classmates.

"It's not worth your time," Renjun pleaded, his eyes filled with the most shock Chenle had ever seen. The older omega clearly had no idea why Jaemin was reacting this way to whatever happened. "Please, just stop."

"Walk it off," he heard Jisung hiss.

Donghyuck let go of Mark's hand and stood beside Chenle. "I've never seen Jaemin like that," he whispered, breath jagged from the run, "but I guess I haven't known him very long."

Chenle gestured his head towards Jisung. "I think he's just as surprised as us, and they're longtime friends."

Mark, red-eyed and stumbling a bit, dispersed the group, but not before one of the alphas in it snickered and said something that neither Chenle nor Donghyuck heard. They moved quickly to their friends and Renjun stood there, looking between the scattering group and the friends he'd recently made.
