Chenle blinked up at Jisung blankly. "Sorry, what did you say?""I'm going to hang out with my other friends today."
He didn't know why he felt... maybe threatened by the statement, but he did. Jisung hadn't often made moves to go back to where he came from (aka the group of jerks who hassle their classmates). Perhaps the alpha preferred his other friends and found Donghyuck and Chenle to be high energy, or even a bit low on energy. These sorts of thoughts crossed the omega's mind. But he cut them short with a curt smile and nodded. "Go ahead. I'm sure you're sick of being surrounded by non-alphas and their bitchy conversations. Recharge."
"...Sure?" Jisung thought Chenle was joking about that, but apparently he wasn't. So he reached out to pat the omega's head and smiled lopsidedly. "I'll recharge, but not because I feel drained with you. In fact, I'd say you energise me."
There was a distinct blush on the elder's face that he couldn't explain. Was it from the hand or the words? Both, he silently assessed. His throat cleared and he patted Jisung's shoulder from a distance. "Catch up with your friends. Don't neglect them."
With that, the younger turned around and walked away awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. Chenle watched him leave wistfully and sighed. He headed back to Donghyuck's locker to wait for him to arrive in school. As Jisung was about to turn the corner, he looked back over his shoulder and frowned at the sight of the omega listlessly dragging his feet through the corridor, seemingly aimlessly. Did he already feel the alpha's absence? It would appear so.
And yes, Chenle liked Jisung's presence. His aura, his vibes, his nonchalance. Ah well, hopefully he'd come back soon enough before the omega would have to thoroughly dissect why he was feeling a bit blue. He leaned against the metal surface of the lockers and folded his arms, looking up and down the hallway to spot his sandy-blonde-haired friend. Or even Mark, who might already be in. It was pretty quiet, almost no one else there to congest the narrow enough space. His hand raised to his mouth to stifle a yawn.
"Hey, Le."
Chenle's eyes watered from the yawn as he blearily spotted Donghyuck approaching. "Ay."
"Jisung! It's been a while," one of the alphas called over and high-fived him cheerily. But it almost sounded quite mocking.
The rest of the guys were looking at him smugly, sussing him out even though he was one of them. Jeno and Jaemin immediately slung their arms over his shoulders on either side of him and pulled him into side hugs. "What has you here?"
"Just a few questions."
The other alphas folded their arms and looked him up and down. "Well, we have some for you as well."
