Detention was rather quiet on Friday morning

Detention was rather quiet on Friday morning. So far, Chenle, a beta-like girl and an obviously-beta male were wrapped up in their own thoughts in the classroom. The windows were open to air the room and the door was kept wide with a doorstop, although it made groaning noises as it vibrated against the floor, the weight of the door a bit too heavy for the wooden stopper.

The sun was exceedingly bright, so the three were stationed closer to the door to avoid being blinded. And after a few more minutes, the rowdy voices of two boys rang through the otherwise empty hallway. They were on the second floor, which was out of bounds in the morning, so the voices could only possibly be heading to detention or else they'd land themselves one for being upstairs.

Two new arrivals, who Chenle actually recognised, strode in like they owned the place. Their eyes landed on the omega and an immediate grin spread across both their faces. "Well well, a familiar face."

Jeno and Jaemin stole the two seats on either side of the boy and sandwiched him with enthusiastic stares. "What has you here?" Jeno asked.

Chenle shrugged. "I just gave the maths teacher a wake-up call. Like, he really needed a mirror, and so I told him what he looks like."

"Oooo," Jaemin whooped and scooted closer to him. "He literally has a butt-face."

"That's why I told him he looks like an ass."

Jeno snorted in agreement. "Someone had to break it to him."

"What about you two?"

"The principal found out about my little... business that I have going." Jaemin rolled his eyes and lifted his arms questioningly, scoffing quietly. "It was doing really well, too."

Jeno noticed the blank look on Chenle's face and realised that this omega was clueless to the operation Jaemin was running around the school. "He buys cigarettes and weed and sells them to the younger students; the ones who wouldn't be able to buy them without a fake ID. It's pretty smooth, really. Almost all of the younger alphas are his customers."

Wow, entrepreneurship at its finest. Chenle would expect suspension for something like that, but connections were handy. But it didn't explain Jeno's detention.

"As for me, I yelled in the library one too many times," the eldest said with a straight face as though it wasn't the stupidest reason for a detention. He picked up, once again, that Chenle was questioning the explanation. "The librarian has had it in for me since I was a first-year. That hag doesn't like anyone."

Before they could settle into a proper conversation, the shuffle of footsteps, although silent and inoffensive, halted all talk. Everyone in the classroom looked up to watch a certain omega make his way to a seat. He chose to sit furthest away from the rest, so he chose a window seat and lay his head in his arms. One would've thought he'd gone straight into a deep rest if not for his index finger drawing gentle circles on his thumb.
