A BLT had never tasted so good

A BLT had never tasted so good. Maybe it was because Chenle focused on it wholeheartedly while Renjun and his alpha admirers played a game of 'don't catch me staring' with each other. Only Mark seemed totally unfazed. Chenle wondered what exactly these supposed agony aunts had done to make Jeno's face seem so hopeful and Jaemin's so hopeless.

He made awkwardly loud chewing noises and soft groans of approval. "Damn, these tomatoes must've grown on a sacred vine." Even though he knew it was strange, what was even more awkward was the love triangle, and so this BLT was great conversation starter to get them all chatting.

"Ah, yes," Donghyuck agreed having picked up on the intention. "This lettuce is so... succulent."

Jisung shifted a little and rolled his eyes, and curiously, Jeno jolted. He was sitting right beside Jisung and turned to him as though he'd been stabbed. Chenle subtly glanced over the table and saw that the small cocktail stick that had been impaling Jisung's sandwich was being retracted from Jeno's leg.

"Ahem," the alpha began and rubbed at his leg, "I can't believe this day is almost over! I guess it felt like such a short time we spent at the park."

It had been quite long, really, between the zip line experience, comforting Renjun, and a stony bus ride back to the hotel. "True true. And better yet, we have a couple more!" Some of the non-alphas had been passing through word of mouth that a totally non-alpha get-together was going to happen tonight at the beach, granted they could sneak out. This was exactly what the three omegas needed. It would be a great way to forget about their troubles and tackle tomorrow with a fresh viewpoint.

"I'm beat," Mark yawned. "I think I might hit the sack."

Jisung gave Chenle a lingering glance, like he wanted to say something, but simply bid them goodnight before following Mark up. The dining area was rapidly emptying. Most of the non-alphas, or at least the ones who had heard about the get-together, were probably on their way to get ready for it. The alphas didn't know and it felt like a victory for them to keep this a secret because alphas often seemed to pry and know things that they shouldn't have known. Chenle wanted to mention it to Jisung or save him some drinks or food, but it was code to keep quiet about it.

Jeno and Jaemin disappeared quickly as well. Renjun said he wanted to tell them about his current position tomorrow to give them space but also a swift answer.

"Are we all in for tonight then?" Donghyuck asked.

"Definitely," Chenle replied and hurriedly finished his BLT.

"Seriously?" Donghyuck quipped. "When you eat that sandwich, it's like you forget all about me."

"No no, you're always my main babe."

"Really? Because I feel like a side piece right now."

Renjun finally seemed to be relaxing, and Chenle doubted it was because of the drama going on at the table between him, the sandwich, and his alleged 'main babe'. It was a shame that so much tension left Renjun when the alphas disappeared. Chenle wondered if the situation would ever brighten for his friend.
