Chenle stayed quiet. If they didn't know he was here for definite, then they might leave — oh wait, I'm in the only cubicle with a locked door. Of course they know I'm here. He bit the inside of his cheek. He wasn't worried in the sense that he'd possibly be beaten up if he got into a fight (he always won his spats, whether it was through an unexpected upper cut or if he figuratively threw sand in their eyes). But would Jisung be disappointed if he beat someone else up?
It was the alpha's vocation to keep Chenle out of trouble, after all. He flushed the toilet and unlocked the door, stepping out into the communal area where the sinks were. And low and behold, there were four guys standing by the door. One of them was, as Jisung had mentally nicknamed, Ro Something-Or-Other. The others were some familiar faces from that one alpha group who pestered non-alphas for their status.
"There are plenty of cubicles," Chenle mentioned, "so why aren't you using them?" He moved to wash his hands, hyperaware that they were still watching him. Though he made sure not to return the gesture as it would seem anxious.
"Aren't you worried?" One of them chuckled, another one snickered daftly.
"About what?"
"About the fact that Jisung isn't here to look after you."
Chenle folded his arms and leaned against the counter. Were they just idiots? "Do I look like easy game? You," he gestured to Ro Something-Or-Other, "are ridiculous."
He looked like his pride had been wounded. "Do you even know who I am?"
"...Should I?"
"...Zhong Chenle, we've been in the same P.E and Politics class all year. How do you not know my name?!"
What could Chenle say? The guy just didn't leave an impression on his memory. In fact, he didn't know the names of the other three alphas either. If they wanted to duke it out with him, then they should have stated that already. Plus, they didn't appear to be preparing to hit him. "Alright. Jisung isn't here, so what is it? Spit it out. Did you need privacy to talk to me?"
"My name is Haneul. Remember that."
Just to wind him up, Chenle cocked his head to the side. "Sorry, what did you say your name was?" It was like a dam had just burst in his brain. He hadn't been argumentative in a while because Jisung and Mr. Park were hoping for a change in behaviour, but it was because Chenle enjoyed riling people up (especially his teachers and gossipers) that he couldn't reel himself back in and just walk away. If only he would just push past them and leave... And in theory, he could, but the four alphas did have an agenda when they came in here.
"Definitely a beta," the tallest of the lot whispered not very quietly. "Don't you think an omega would be trembling or whatever it is that they do?"
"I don't know about that," Ro Haneul clicked his tongue. He looked Chenle up and down like the sleazebag he was. A decision was made in his head; the conclusion he had come to when they were practicing self-defence together the other day. "Omega. So, Chenle, enlighten us."
