Time was flowing smoothly down at the pond. The goose ignored them for the most part, although Chenle could swear he saw a hint of recognition in its eyes."It doesn't recognise you, Chenle. Stop psyching yourself out."
"No, no, it looked at me and squinted."
"It's sunny."
"No, it's sizing me up."
Jisung sighed and gave the omega a tired glance. "I didn't think you were such a..."
"Go on. Such a what?"
He decided not to finish and call the boy a wimp or complainer or something along those lines. He just stayed quiet, which actually served rather valuable, because he was able to hear an approaching ruckus. Taking a curious look at the commotion, he was able to spot what looked like a group of three legging it towards them it like their lives depended on it, and pursuing them was his dad. Mr. Park was huffing and puffing as he took the sprint that, really, a man at forty-six should be reconsidering. "...Dad?"
"Oldy?"
The three; two boys and a girl, darted past the duo but the policeman stopped at the mention of his name, hands holding his knees and a great deal of wheezing filling the air. "You two... together... wow," he managed.
"Dad, they're getting away," Jisung implored and pointed at the disappearing figures, who just so happened to be the people Chenle was supposed to meet up with this morning.
"They always do," was the reply, but he didn't sound overly flat about it. It was the norm. "Anyway, I thought you were out on your habitual jog, Jisung."
"I was but we crossed paths and decided to hang out here."
Mr. Park briefly gazed at the black backpack lying at Chenle's feet; an object he was accustomed to in the three years he had been monitoring the boy. A knowing look consumed his features and he smiled between the two. It seemed that Jisung was doing more than just giving the omega a bit of guidance. He was actively trying to change him for the better. "Well, do either of you have sun cream on?"
"No," they answered together, unsure about why the question was posed.
"Then head over to the house. Young adults need to protect their skin."
Chenle immediately did a double-take and shook his head vigorously. Oldy's house? Seriously? "No thanks, I'll just go home."
But the man wasn't having any of that. It was too sunny for them to stay outside but he didn't want them to cut their hang-out short either, since he knew Chenle could still catch up to the others. "I insist. Jisung, we still have some bread left over, right? Fix him a snack before sending him on his way."
The young alpha nodded hesitantly and eyed the ravenette unsurely. There was an expression of resignation in Chenle's eyes that didn't want to come off as rude, so he nodded at Jisung.
