I really thought everything would be easy since his family and my mother has no problem with our relationship. They supports us and what we have, and I'm very much happy with that.

Masaya sila para sa amin. Masaya kami. Wala na dapat problema pero mayroon pa rin pala...

Ayaw ni Papa.

The moment he heard about my relationship with Zathrian Orozco, I received a call from him saying that he's not happy with it. Hindi man sobra ang pagtutol niya, ayaw niya pa rin at hindi ako sinusuportahan.

My father was never really strict to me. Despite growing up without him being by my side most of the time, it didn't impede us to be close and create a bond. I love and respect him as my father, just like how I love my Mom. With all that being said, his opinion will always matter to me.

Hindi tumutol si Papa sa relasyon ko noon. Ayos lang naman sakaniya at siguro, masyado siyang busy sa negosyo at sariling pamilya para tutulan pa ang pagboboyfriend ko. Also, I was already eighteen when I had a relationship.

Hindi rin naman siya nagkulang sa akin. He never forgot to check on me even if we don't see each other regularly. He also made sure to never make me feel like I'm an outcast whenever I'm with his family.

Kaya ang pagtutol niya rito, malaking bagay sa akin.

I remember the times when he's also restricting me to be friends with Achlys. I fought for that because I don't see any reason why we can't be friends.

Kaya ito... siyempre ipinaglaban ko.

"Hija, I'll be honest with you. I'm not really happy with this. That man came from the Orozcos! Their family is in politics and you know how dirty that can be. Can you find... a better man?" that was the exact words he told me.

I went to their house just so we could talk because I'm not satisfied with the phone call. I need to explain to him in person that I'm really happy with my relationship.

"Pa, he's the better man..." I immediately countered him.

"Really, anak? Based from what I've heard, he's got a reputation. Playboy."

Bumuntong hininga ako. "Dati po 'yon. Hindi na siya ganoon ngayon."

"And how sure are you?"

Mariin akong tinitigan ni Papa. I know he's just being a protective father but also, I need to defend my boyfriend.

"Pa, his past doesn't define who he is now. He's capable of changing. And he changed. Please, trust me..."

He pursed his lips. "I trust you, Hira. But I don't trust that man."

Alam ko namang posible ngang isipin 'yan ng mga tao. After all, he was indeed a playboy. Was. He changed and he proved that.

Hindi ako papasok sa relasyon kung hindi ko muna napatunayan na seryoso nga siya rito. I know better now. They just have to trust me more.

It just really saddens me that even after changing for the better and getting serious with me, people still see him as the playboy he was before.

Nagduda rin naman ako pero pinatunayan naman niya ang sarili niya...

Noong araw na 'yon, natapos ang pag-uusap namin ni Papa na hindi pa rin siya sang-ayon. Hindi naman niya sinabing makipaghiwalay ako pero ang dating no'n, na kung pwedeng humanap ng iba, 'yon na lang at 'wag si Zathrian.

Which I would never do because I love him and I'm perfectly fine with our relationship.

At hindi lang 'yon ang naging problema namin. Because after confirming that we're together, people can't just stop talking about it.
