Chapter 14

It had been about a week since the news from Kagami. I was finally off my crutches, but I wasn't over him. I still wanted ever so much to be with him, even if it was just his friend and nothing more.
"Hey you should come to my game next week!" Kagami's words rang in my ear and made my heart ache. His basketball game was today.
'Should I go? No, Kagami isn't my friend. He'd hate to see me there. But...' I promised I go. I don't care if doesn't want to be my friend, I'm gonna keep this promise.

After the final school bell rung I headed towards the gym. I saw Kagami and the Seirin team doing a practice. Then another team walked in, Kaijo. Kaijo had Kise on it, one of the GoM. Kagami told me once he was excited to crush all the GoM and become the best. The fond memory brought a small smile to my face.

I sat in the back bleachers so that none of them could see me. Kagami was amazing. His style of basketball was so similar to Lizzy's. They both jumped to heights way above average and were fast, really fast. Kagami would run across the court dodging all the other teams players. Until he reached Kise. Kise and him went head to head in a 1 on 1 battle. Kise mouthed something to Kagami which made him furious. The whole aura and pressure of the atmosphere changed. Whatever Kise said made Kagami play twice as hard. Kagami was dunking baskets like there was no tomorrow. 1, 2, 3 baskets, he just kept scoring. The game ended with 56-74. Seirin had completely dominated the game and won.

Kagami then put a smirk on his face. I couldn't see his eyes since his hair covered them. He then ran off the court without even thanking Kaijo for the game. He ran and probably went into the locker room to grab something. I have no idea what he's doing. But who cares, it won't affect me since we aren't friends. I started to get up and leave before anyone on the Seirin team saw me. This way I could still keep whatever's left of my dignity. I got up and out of the corner of my eye I saw Kagami. He had a big marker in his right hand and held a giant sheet of paper in the other. He was writing something on the paper. I rolled my eyes and started to walk out. As I opened the door I heard the shriek of a thousand fangirls. I turned and ran over to where I could see the court.

Kagami was holding a sign.
'I'm sorry for what I said earlier.
I love you Nova. :)'
