Chapter 37

We pulled up to the airport and went through all the crummy security stuff.

We made our way through the crowded building and to Kagami's gate.

"Nova my plan boards in 30 minutes. Want to get something to eat? I'm starving." Kagami asked. He was trying to be light hearted but I could tell it was forced.
Truth be told I had no appetite but I was willing to do anything to spend time with him.
"Sure. It won't be as good as your cooking but I'll have some breakfast."

We got to a little cafe and took our seats. A waiter came over with a menu and guess who it was. Bethany. Haven't heard from her in awhile.

"Oh of fucking course you two would be here." She stated in her annoying voice.

She handed us our menus and walked away.
"Kagami I'm not really hungry anymore." I said.
"After seeing that bitch, neither am I."

We both chuckled and left. I held Kagami's hand and out of the corner of my eye I saw a angry Bethany. I hope that's the last I see of her for... Well let's hope forever.

Once we made it back to the gate they were boarding the plane. Kagami was going to be gone for two years in America. That's a long time without him.
"Nova you know I love you with all my heart right?" Kagami said with a trembling voice.
A simple "Mhmm." Was all I could reply with.
Science fell upon us for a few seconds, until Kagami spoke one last time.
"When I come back... Will you sing for me?" He cracked a cheesy smile on his face.
I couldn't help but giggle and also cry at his question.
"Y-yeah." I said with my voice starting to waver. "I'd love to do that."
I was mentally thanking Momoi for telling Kagami that I sing.

"Now boarding Section C. All passengers on Section C please board now." Called the flight attendant.

"Oh that's me." Kagami said while looking at his ticket.
I spotted some pink and navy blue hair in the crowd. We make our way towards the line and I realized it was Momoi and Aomine.

"Oi Bakagami, come on or we'll be late."
"Alright alright one second."
The two giants argued.

Kagami looked at me, kissed me, then said "I'll be back before you know it."
I nodded and hugged him like I was never going to get this chance again.

As he walked away he got further out of my field of vision until I couldn't even see his red hair anymore.

Tears rolled down my cheeks but no sobs came out. They were silent tears. I didn't even notice I was crying until Momoi poked my shoulder.

"Let's go home, ne?" She said.

This must be hard for her too. To have Aomine leave her for such a long time. Both of us needed each others comfort now more than ever.

These next two years are going to be a struggle.
