Chapter 31

Novas perspective~
I'm sitting on the bleachers by myself.
'I wonder if Momoi is here? I think she goes to Tōō now.'
Momoi was my only friend during the time when people were bullying me. She would always stick up for me and I never did repay her for her kindness. One day I will.
My thoughts are interrupted when I hear a familiar voice.
"Novacchi!"
I turn around and look to see Kise standing behind me.
"Kise!? What are you doing here? Is Momoi here too?" "So many questions Novacchi." He ruffles my hair.
"I'm here to watch Aiominecchi and Kagamicchi go against each other. Momoi is down on the court with Aomincchi. Do you see her?"

I scanned the team bleachers for Tōō and soon enough I spotted some bright pink hair. Momoi!
I would have to say hi to her after the game.

"Ne, Novacchi?"
"Yes Kise?"
"What changed? Last time we met you weren't a happy person. I like this new Novacchi much better!"
He gave a cute smile and thumbs up.

I never really thought about that. Kise and I haven't spoken in months but, did I really change that much? I guess I am happier then when the school year started, that's for sure. Kagami changed my life. He saved me. He rescued me from, well, myself and the bullies. I haven't spoken or seen Bethany much recently. All the other people just kinda gave up on teasing and tormenting me.

Even though I felt like I would be stuck in that helpless void for forever life moved on. Things changed like the seasons for me. I was stuck In a frozen wasteland, but when Kagami came it was like a sun entered my life. He melted the snow and ice. The tress I thought would never grow leaves again grew beautiful cherry blossoms. My life wasn't perfect by any means but it was a hell of a lot better.

I sat content in my own happy thoughts until I felt a tug at my shirt.
"Novacchiiii~" Kise wined.
"Huh? Oh!" I snapped back to reality.
"Um well... Let's just say I found the sun in my dark cloud."

Kise gave me a really confused face but just shrugged his shoulders.
"You don't make any sense, Novacchi." He put his hand in his hair and pulled it out of his face.
"Neither do you Kise." I nudged him in the side.

*whistle*
An announcer came out to the center of the basketball court and said "Sierin vs Tōō basketball game will now begin."

'Tōō was already out on the court. Sierin just walked in now. Who was Tōō missing?' I thought.
"Oh Aomincchi was late again. He never learns." Kise said. "Who's Aomincchi?" I asked. "He's one of teammates from the GoM."

'Oh so he's Aomine. The guy who Kagami said was his rival.' I thought. 'I hope Kagami finally beats him and I can cheer him on.'
