Chapter 25 The war Finale

'Forgive me Natsu I couldn't keep that promise' Zeref started to shed tears, he thought of himself as selfish, leaving his beloved brother alone just because he wanted to die, but he knew that this was his one and only chance that he would get and he was determined to see it through. Zeref's body started to dissolve first was legs the arms and then the torso, he smiled and looked at the fairies who were unsure on what to do
"Natsu can be a bit difficult to handle, he has anger issues and quite the..... let's just say health problems. The lacrima in his chest which is the replacing the heart, is slowly wearing out, I'm sure you've noticed that he sometimes starts to cough out blood. That's the reason behind it" pause "and his weird affinity to talk to animals, if it gets too much tell him to stop, especially bugs say you'll squish them and make sure you mean it" pause "also -

"Why on earthland are you telling us all this?" Gray asked cutting off Zeref's talk in the process.

"I-I just don't want Natsu to be completely alone, I know he has his animal friends but he needs more than that, he needs to be able to communicate with people he can't spend the entirety of his life talking with no one but animals, he'll have no social skills. Not that he has any to begin with" he mumbled the last past "I guess what I'm saying is that I want you to look after him just don't confine him too much take it from me, he doesn't like it" Zeref's body was nearly completely gone all that remains was his neck and head, he sighed "just please look after him" was his last words before he completely disappeared, shocking everyone who witnessed it 'the Black Wizard dead' they all thought. Laxus started to walk away

"And what are you doing?" Erza asked with a stern voice

"Going back to the cathedral obviously, if your coming hurry up" he and everyone else proceeded to head back to the cathedral.

At the cathedral

Gildarts was still throwing his "crush" magic at Natsu repeatedly, both of them getting tired from doing the same thing for over an hour
'Forgive me Natsu I couldn't keep that promise' 
Natsu halted blocking Gildarts's attacks for a moment and looked around the cathedral wondering if he was going insane
"I could've swore that I heard Zeref" he whispered but because of Wendy's advances hear she heard it
'Hey Zeref you good?' He asked telepathically but he never got an answer
'Zeref?' No answer
'Hey this isn't funny you know!' Okay now Natsu was beginning to panic. Zeref would never ignore him especially in the middle of a war. He started to panic even more and by the looks on everyone else's faces they thought so too

"Hey kid... you okay?" Gildarts asked concerned for the demons mental state, but unbeknownst to them Natsu wasn't paying attention as he was too busy trying to talk to Zeref through telepathy

"Hey Gildarts-san I don't think he's listening" Wendy said getting a nod from Gildarts

"Or even in this reality" Lucy commented, feeling sympathy towards whatever the demon was freaking out about. Suddenly Natsu grabbed his head in agony and started to scream which sound more like a roar. Everyone covered their ears as they thought that the sound would blow their ear drums up. He dropped to the ground and reverted back to his usual form still clutching his head and screaming, blood started to roll down his head from where his hands were gripping. The "Black pillers" faded away allowing entry and exit of the cathedral

"Okay kid calm down, it's only a dream"
'Or something like that'

"A dream?" Pause "I hope it is" pause "if it was all a dream that would be perfect, but things most certainly cannot be that simple. I am E.N.D a demon from the books of Zeref I cannot function properly without him, I need him, he's my brother, I need him, need him, need him, need him. I NEED HIM" Natsu said with tears of blood running down his face and bangs covered his eyes
