Once Jura had finished his speech everyone was raring to go. The guild masters went to where their guilds were standing among the stands, everyone of them telling rules and regulations of the events. After a while Jura spoke once again into the mic catching everyone's attention
"Now that your Guild masters have spoken to you about rules, we will now start the first event which is the Air race. Rules for this event are simple each competitor will race around the designated track which have been labeled by ballooned flags, sounds simple right well you'd be wrong, the condition is that you must stay in the air, your not aloud to touch the ground. Not that you'd be able to since you'd be quite high in the air. You have five minutes to choose your competitors then we'll begin the first event however, if you don't have anyone suitable for the event you may pass but that will cost you minus 1 point"
Each guild started discussing who would be suitable for competing in the first event. From Lamia Scale it was decided that Lyon would go. Blue Pegasus was going to skip the event since they didn't have anyone suitable. From Sabertooth Olga was going, begging to go first. Next was Fairy Tail which were still deciding on who to send to compete.
"I think we should send Wendy" Erza said "since she's a Sky Dragon Slayer she'd be able to fly" her fellow guild mates nodded with agreement
"I-I'll try my best" Wendy said, though she was nervous. All her guild mates were counting on her and she was determined to not let them down. Everyone started working out if there was anyone else who would be able to participate in the air race, so as things happens there was that one guy who suggested something
"What about Natsu?" He said. Everyone turned their heads to look at Natsu who was leaning on the railing not paying attention to what the guild was talking about.
"Good point, Natsu should learn to be more team like and this is the perfect opportunity" Mira said smirking along with Erza. "Oh Natsu" she said in a threatening tone. Natsu turned his head to look at the guild which was radiating a dark aura, it's safe to say that he was getting nervous as to what she was about to say
"What is it?" He asked with a sweat drop, knowing that he wouldn't like the answer
"I'm assuming that you can fly yes? Why don't you make yourself a little useful while your here and help us to win" Mira said slowly waking towards the now scared demon.
"Just because I can fly doesn't mean that I'm going to participate in this silly competition, besides I don't want to stand out" Natsu said trying to avoid the demonic stare coming from the group "besides I don't see the point in doing little competitions like this if there isn't anything to be gained from it. It's a waste of time" he mumbled the last part.
"It's just for fun you know" Lucy said gaining his and everyone else's attention "the only real thing to be gained from it is just being able to spend time with everyone. It's just like when we invited you to the festival years ago" she smiled
'I got yelled at for letting goldfish go in the river' Natsu thought still remembering the time he spend with them back then. He wouldn't admit it but he had quite the good time then
"I see, still though I don't know" he looked back at the arena
'Don't treat me so casually' he thought. Wendy walked up to Natsu and patted his head, which caused confusion for him but made Wendy look like a tomato
"Come on Natsu-san it'll be fun" she said. Natsu was about to decline when we was pushed over the edge of the railing by a certain ice mage. He fell to the bottom and grunted in pain, he slowly turned his head to send Gray daggers though most of the members of the guild laughed at his fall. The only ones who didn't laugh were Lucy, Wendy, Levy, Gildarts and Laxus who never laughs so that wasn't a surprise. Natsu wasn't happy about this, he didn't like being laughed at, not at all. A siren sounded which indicated that it was time for the games to begin and it was too late for Natsu to retreat back into the stands as he was getting the "If you don't compete I'll kill you" look from the entirety of Fairy Tail
