Chapter 31 Carousel island

A week had past and now everyone was on their way to Carousel island٫ by a large boat. The breeze was nice and the waves were calm the only problem was the Dragon Slayers, motion sickness must have been a curse to them, because by the looks on their faces they were ready to die, and Natsu wouldn't admit it but he was starting to feel a little queasy and sitting on the edge of the boat probably didn't help. His motion sickness had never been this bad before so he wasn't exactly sure on what to do about it and he sure as hell wasn't going to ask anyone about it. He didn't even want to come on this trip, but was forced by Makarov saying that "he'll never get his key back if he didn't go" so in the end he didn't get much of a choice in the matter and now he was wishing he had killed them years ago. Natsu was tapped on the shoulder by a certain Dragon Slayer, he turned his head to look at the Iron Dragon Slayer who was ready to puke
"This your first time getting motion sickness eh? I'd like to say you get used to it eventually but that won't happen, there's no escape from this hell" Gajeel threw up over the side of the boat leaving trails of green in the water, this made Natsu even more queasy and was honestly thinking of throwing himself off the boat, as much as he hates water, he hated the motion sickness even more. He was tapped on the other shoulder by the younger Dragon Slayer who didn't look as bad as Gajeel but you could tell that she was also in pain

"It's okay Natsu-san I only got it recently as well" she said, also throwing up over the boat. Natsu wasn't exactly in the mood to talk to anyone at the present moment so he tried to ignore them and was doing well until Gray came along and started to shake him and at that moment Natsu couldn't take it no more all the shaking and going up and down was too much for him and you could tell by the colour of his face that he was about to throw up so he did the only logical thing that anyone would do in his situation. He jumped off the boat which caused the people who saw this, have a mild panic attack.

People rushed over to the edge to see if Natsu was okay, but no one could see him. Erza started to growl at Gray for causing him to jump off the boat and Gray being himself tried to defend his case by saying that it was only a joke, but Erza wasn't accepting that for a answer. Eventually Natsu surfaced the water, but he wasn't alone, for some reason he was laying on top of a shark, unfortunately for him he could still feel the effects of motion sickness. Meanwhile on the boat everyone was wondering why he was riding the shark.
"You okay Natsu?" Erza yelled from the boat, Natsu grunted and looked up at her and nodded slowly, and of corse Erza and co didn't believe him but they accepted it knowing that he wanted to be left alone.

Three horrendous hours later and the boat had finally arrived at Carousel island. The boat was now anchored at dock and luckily for Fairy Tail there were only three casualties. Gajeel, Natsu, and Wendy were barely moving, though Natsu was doing much better than the other two since he was actually able to walk and didn't look as green
"Come on you two you can't stay on the boat forever, besides if you do I believe that you'd get worse" Erza said trying to get Wendy and Gajeel off the boat but they weren't moving. She sighed and turned her head to Natsu who was now sitting on the edge of the dock, with his feet in the water, petting the shark. Once again she sighed and walked over towards Natsu
"You okay?" She asked with concern

"I'll be fine, though I never knew riding transportation would be this bad, occasionally I would get sick but never this bad" he stopped petting the shark and it went back into the sea leaving him to get back on his feet, Erza giving him a hand which he accepted

"Don't you usually ride a boat when your coming and going from Alvarez?"

"No I would usually either fly or use my portals, depending on wether or not I'd been to that place" Erza nodded her head in understanding

"Well since your back on your feet do you mind getting the other two off the boat" Natsu glanced at the two Dragon Slayers who were slouching down on the stairs coming off the boat. Natsu nodded, he held out his hand and underneath the two Slayers a portal appeared they both feel into it and ended up on the dock.
"Thank you Natsu, it's nice to see that your adjusting to the "doing good" side of things" Erza walked over towards the two who were still slouching for reasons unknown to her.
"You are off the boat now so you should be okay, so get up we don't have all day" she commanded. Gajeel and Wendy took a moment to realise that they were indeed off the boat and stood up with no hesitation and started acting like nothing happened at all which caused Erza to sigh, but she was glad that they weren't too down.

"Hurry up you four, times wasting" Laxus yelled at the four who tried to ignore it
"What took you so long? if you were going to take so long we should've left you at the guild" Laxus said in annoyance however, Erza ignored him and ran ahead of him

"I guess he doesn't exactly like to play nice with others. I also get the feeling that he actually looks down on others" Natsu said as he appeared through a portal. Now accompanying Erza on her walk.

"Laxus is definitely a difficult person to understand, though I'm sure he means well" she paused "besides your not exactly the play nice type either and sometimes I get the feeling that you also look down on others" she finished and in the end she started eyeing him, giving him a sweat drop.

"I don't look down on people, sure that they can be infuriating and I don't always understand them, sometimes I may say and act like I'm above you , but rest assured that's not what I think. In fact it's fair to say that I'm jealous of you humans. You don't have to worry about the things that I have to worry about, your all so carefree and do what you want when you want. More importantly you can walk around without the people fearing you. It's safe to say that I envy you" he said without emotion. Erza put her hand on his shoulder and have him a genuine smile, which kinda made him feel a bit off

"Well maybe instead of treating others like your enemies you should try to treat them like your friends, then maybe others will open up to you and see that your not all so bad"

"Perhaps"
'But I doubt it, people don't change that easily' he thought. Over an hour later and Fairy Tail and Natsu arrived at their destination. It was a beach. Your typical everyday beach with sand, the occasional rocks and can't forget about mages running around throwing magic about. From what Fairy Tail could see there weren't many guilds that seemed to be participating in the little event. There was Sabertooth, Lamia Scale, and Blue Pegasus. Erza was wondering why other guild such as Mermaid Heel and Quatro Cerberus weren't there, though she thought that they may just be too busy to come.

"Hey Fairy Tail, welcome to Carousel Island" Sting said as he was ecstatically running towards the group and Rogue not too far behind. "Events won't start til tomorrow so relax and have a fun at the beach" he added getting small cheers from the guild. Sting grabbed Natsu's hand and started dragging him away from the group "I'm glad you came too Natsu, this place would be pretty boring if there's no one new around, c'mon let's go have fun" he dragged Natsu away from the group, leaving them all alone.
