It was five hours after the first event ended and everyone was either sleeping or chatting the night away, then there were those few people who could do neither because of the others who were making too much noise, and Lucy was one of those people. She couldn't sleep at all so she decided that she would go for a walk or even see Erza in her room, because she knew that Erza of all people would still be awake. Lucy didn't exactly know which room Erza was in, but she remembered Erza talking about room 328 for some reason that she couldn't remember. So she went towards that way. When she arrived at the room she knocked on the door but no one answered so she decided that she would go somewhere else, but not before the door opened revealing Natsu who was shirtless and his eyes were black
"I don't think you people know that I don't like to be woken up, so hurry up and tell me what you want" he practically growled at Lucy who was trying very hard not to stare at his chest, which didn't go unnoticed by the demon.

"N-nothing I thought you were someone else so good bye" she tried to return back to her room but was stopped by stepping into a portal that was made by a certain demon who wasn't to impressed that he was woken up for nothing. The portal ended up being the room Natsu was staying in.

"So you wake me up and then decide that your gonna leave without explaining why, that is why I don't like you humans. You realise that even Zeref wouldn't wake me up for no reason right" Natsu said as he closed the door, leaving Lucy to be nervous about being locked in a room with him
"I didn't lock the door" he added. Lucy mentality cursed herself for forgetting that he could read negative thoughts. She tried to think of only good things but by the look on Natsu's face she wasn't doing so well.

"I-I'm sorry for waking you up, I didn't mean to I was being honest when I said that I thought you were someone else" she was cut off by Natsu who was tapping his finger of the doorway

"Aren't you going to explain why you woke ME UP!" He raised his voice a little startling Lucy which caused her to panic

"Y-Yes well what happened was" 30 minutes later Lucy had finished explaining why she had woken him up, and the now sleep-depraved demon was understanding on why she woke him up, but that doesn't mean that he was happy, in fact it looked like he was about to murder someone and this terrified Lucy. Natsu sighed and leaned his head against the chair he was sitting on. His black eyes staring off into space he was honestly enjoying the peace and quiet. Lucy on the other hand was feeling anxious, she didn't know what to do and was about to ask if she could leave but then suddenly changed her mind
"Hey Natsu what do you see with your black eyes?" She asked. Natsu turned his head to look at her, his black eyes piercing right into her very being.

"Why do you want to know?" He asked unsure as to why someone would want to know

"I'm just curious" he didn't know what to think, only a couple of years ago she was absolutely terrified of him, she wouldn't look at him in the eyes or even go within room space with him. He wanted to ask her what changed but didn't have the energy to listen too much, since he was tired.

"It's hard to explain" he simply said, though by the look on Lucy's face she didn't quite understand. He sighed and leaned his head in his hands "when people look into my black eyes or as I call them "demonic eyes" it takes them into my book makes them see what I see and makes them feel what I feel" he looks over to Lucy who looked more confused than ever, once again he sighed "maybe it would be easier if I showed you" he stood up from his seat and walked over to Lucy in her seat. He reached out his hands and cupped her head pulling his head closer to hers, until their eyes met. Lucy stared into his pitch black eyes (not that she had a choice) only to be scared of what she saw.

What she saw was something out of a nightmare. There was a dark wasteland the ground was cracked and she saw absolutely no life whatsoever, not even a small plant was in sight, the sky was a dark red like colour and was full of pitch black clouds. The only thing that she could see in sight was a building but it was too far away for her to see what it was, though by the shape of it she thought that it was a castle. Slowly but surely she could feel her body temperature rising, she thought that she was pass out from the heat when it suddenly stopped. All the pain and what she was seeing just stopped, the next thing she saw was the apartment that she was in before, and Natsu moving away from her sitting back on the chair he was in. His eyes returned to normal. Lucy was somewhat terrified on what she saw and was trembling slightly. Natsu noticed this and thought that he should comfort her but wouldn't exactly know how too.
"What you saw is my true home" Lucy glanced up at him, still trembling "when I go back into my book or my key that is where I go, that is where I live" he said. Lucy looked down and thought on how such a place could exist or how anyone would be able to live there. As if Natsu was reading her mind (which he totally wasn't) he answered
"I'm a demon, that place is quite sustainable for me. Though like you saw and felt, it is not recommended that you humans go there" Lucy nodded in understanding, though she still wasn't too sure on it

"You flash your black eyes quite a lot at people that annoy you. Do you want them to see and feel all that?" she asked him curiously. Natsu shook his head as a no "oh" Lucy replied

"People only see that if I show it to them, most of the time they wouldn't be able to see anything. Mostly I show people my black eyes for intimidation, which works well if I do say so myself" he said proudly, but what Lucy noticed is that he was smiling. This was the first time that she'd seen him smile genuinely, and she thought it was nice.

"Do um..." Lucy was unsure whether or not to ask him anything, since it was late and he didn't exactly look too awake at the present moment. Though on the other hand Natsu was giving her the "what" look
"do you-you know, hate me" She asked nervously "I mean since we first met we haven't exactly been on the best of terms, you used to glare and have a tendency to show your black eyes at me. So sometimes I get the impression that your especially not "friendly" at me, and Loke told me that it's not exactly me that your mad at, but at another Heartfilia called Anna? I think" she said unaware that Natsu was glaring

"Loke should keep his mouth shut, it's not his place to tell others my damn life story" the demon said darkly causing Lucy to regret asking him anything. She was about to apologise when Natsu cut her off
"I don't hate you per say, though your other relatives are a different story" he paused and looked at Lucy who was wide eyed. He leaned his head in his hand once again "I'm guessing that Loke told you about Anna forcing me to become a spirit" Lucy nodded "Well I bet that he didn't tell you why"

'Why?' She thought

"Anna thought that I would be deemed too dangerous for the outside world, not only that but she thought that I would attempt to kill the celestial spirits. Anna is delusional I would have never even thought to harm them... okay maybe sometimes I thought that but still I wouldn't harm them that bad , Loke and I sometimes butt heads with each other but nothing too serious" sigh "anyways centuries later Layla your mother came into the mix. She wanted to end the idea of having a demonic key in the celestial order. Do you remember the night your mansion burned down?" He asked her

"Bits and pieces of it, i was fairly young so I don't quite remember it all, but may I ask how you know about it?"

"I was the one who burned it down" Lucy looked horrified. Her whole life she'd been wondering on what happened that night and out of the blue the one who ruined her life was confessing to it. Confusion, anger, hatred these are what she was currently feeling and Natsu could feel the amount of hatred that was practically pouring off her, he started to feel somewhat uncomfortable with this. "The night your house burned down Layla was planning on destroying my key and if that happened I would have died, and let's just say that Zeref wasn't too happy about that. The mistake that you Heartfilia's made was that you assumed that I was actually in my key. I was at first but after a while I managed to get out, just how like your celestial spirits would open their own gate. Anyways Zeref told me to go get back my key and so I did, just as she was preparing to destroy it I came in and stopped her, once I took my key back I made sure that you Heartfilia's wouldn't bother me again٫ so I killed Layla and burned the house down٫ your dad was collateral damage as I've said, and you didn't die which is why I didn't exactly like you too much at the start" he took another glance at Lucy who was on the verge of tears, he felt somewhat guilty, then again he also didn't.

All the new information was too much for Lucy she didnt know how to process any of it٫ was she supposed to be mad at the demon or not she didn't know. She was so deep in thought that she didn't realize that Natsu was calling her until she was splashed with water from a portal.
"what was that for!!!" she yelled quite annoyed that she was now drenched.

"you were spacing out٫ so I helped you" he simply replied٫ getting a pretty good glare from her. "So Lucy do you hate me now?" Lucy was shocked that he'd asked her the same question that she had asked him earlier, the problem was that she didn't actually know. She wanted so very much to hate him but can't bring herself to do so. Just as she was about to answer the grandfather clock went off indicating that it was midnight and Lucy's cue to leave

"Well its getting pretty late and i don't want to keep you up٫ so I bid you farewell for the evening" Lucy said as she got up and walked out of the room, leaving Natsu to ponder on the chair

'It was nice talking to you too'
