It was around 10:00 in the morning and almost everyone from Fairy Tail was as the docks awaiting to board the boat to take them home. Back to their precious guild. However not everyone was exactly being cooperative about leaving the island. At the current moment Erza alone has dragged seven of the Fairy Tail members onto the boat and to make sure they stay there Erza had put Natsu on guard duty. Which in her opinion was the best choice possible. Since every time someone tries to escape Natsu would just "portal" them back.
After around another hour of waking people up and forcing them onto the boat, everyone was finally accountable and so the long days and events of the Carousel Island tournament were finally over. For the Dragon Slayers the boat ride is a absolute nightmare. Just like the first time they rode the same boat, their motion sickness kicked in causing them to hang themselves of the edge of the transportation, and just like before Natsu was tapped on the shoulders by the other two Dragon Slayers.
"They say second time is the charm, but don't be fooled by those lies. It's just as bad as the first time" Gajeel said throwing up of the boat, once again leaving trails of green in the blue water.

"G-Gajeel-san I do believe that the saying goes "third times the charm" not second" Wendy said as she too threw up over the boat. Natsu couldn't care less what the saying was. In fact all he cared about at that moment was when the boat would hurry up and get to the destination. He was even thinking of throwing himself off the boat like last time. But he was pretty sure that would fail. Erza wasn't taking any chances, so she was watching him like a hawk. Which was honesty creeping Natsu out.

"Hey can't you like make a portal or something. Make the boat already at dock, so we don't have to suffer anymore" Gajeel said, with a face Natsu had never seen so green before.

'Why didn't I think of that' he thought. He looked over towards the front of the boat. Natsu had to make sure that the portal was big enough otherwise, the boat would be destroyed. He assumed that all of Fairy Tail could swim, but if not he'd be willing to help. His eyes turned black and a portal appeared at the front of the boat. Natsu was honestly having trouble keeping it open because of how he felt at the current moment. The front of the boat went into the portal and slowly did the rest of it. Most people were confused at first, but there confusion went away just a quickly when they realised it was just one of Natsu's portals. Once the entirety of the boat was through the portal, everyone was shocked as to where he had taken them. It wasn't at the docks like it was supposed to be. No. It was right behind Fairy Tail's guild in the lake.

"Natsu why did you bring it here, the dock is in Hargeon" Erza said. She wasn't angry, but she was certainly confused as to why he didn't make the other end of the portal in Hargeon.

"I'll move it later" Natsu simply said before he jumped off the boat. As soon as he got off the boat his motion sickness went away. He lost out a relieved sigh. He was thankful that he was off the boat, another second and he might've just flown all the way back to the guild hall. It took Fairy Tail approximately an hour to get off the boat as well as all the supplies. As soon as everything was off the boat Natsu sent it to Hargeon via portal. Hours later and everything was back to normal or as normal as Fairy Tail could be. It hadn't even been a full day and they were already trashing the guild. A fight was going on consisting of Gray and Gajeel. No-one know why or how the fight started, but what everyone does know is that the guild is completely back to normal. As if nothing had happened at all.

It was one of those guild fights that consisted of magic as well as normal brawls. Most people were trying to avoid getting in either of their paths. But to some members, luck just wasn't on their side. Since they kept getting hit with one thing or another. Eventually Erza had decided to step in to try to stop it but she got hit with a chair that Gajeel had threw, so as a result of that she had started to fight as well. Nothing had changed at all. All the events that had transpired on Carousel Island seemed too have never happened in the first place. Makarov made an appearance. He walked down the now damaged stairs and then approached Natsu who was sitting in one of the bar stools. He reached out his hand and in it was something that Natsu had completely forgotten about.
"My key"
'It completely slipped my mind' he thought. Natsu grabbed the key and gave it a little throw before catching it again.

"I did promise that I'd give it back to you once the tournament was over. Providing that we did win but there's nothing that can be done about that now. You've been waiting a long time for this moment my boy.  You are now free. But if I hear about any disturbing news that involves you I'll have no choice but to contain you. I hope you understand my child" Makarov said with pride. Makarov didn't want to see the boy go off into the world. He was beginning to get attached to the demon. Though he would never force one of his children to stay in the nest if they didn't want to. That was the unfortunate truth that haunts him every time, seeing his beloved children go off onto their own. Having there own adventures.

Natsu on the other hand wasn't sure what to do.
'I'm free?' He had thought why did Makarov use that word above all. Natsu hadn't felt like he was being forced into staying with the guild. If he was honest he could've gotten away from them anytime he wanted but he never felt the need to. Where would he go? Zeref was gone, he had no family left alive, and he most certainly didn't want to wonder the earth forever like Zeref did for four hundred years. Did Makarov want him to leave? True he did say he'd give him his key back after the tournament and at the time he was glad to hear that, but now he wasn't too sure.

"You alright my boy?" Makarov asked the spaced out demon. Natsu snapped back to reality. But not before making his final (possibly worst or best) decision of his entire life.
