The doors looked completely the same. If one could call it a door. Still, just the emblems indicated that something was located behind it.
Seulgi took a glance at the plan Jisoo had drawn, realizing that they were exactly under the school yard.
„There's no emblem", Mina mumbled and stepped closer to the sticks and squares. She reached out for them, but didn't touch them.
„And now?", Jihyo asked, almost too much excitement in her voice. Chae took out one of their maps and made a weird noise with a tongue.
„Here is a list with the emblems for each sector." She handed Mina the small paper. Seulgi could barely recognize a table written on it, but her eyesight was too bad to read the details.
„Thank you", Mina mumbled. She looked at the list once, scanning the paper. Then she removed and took the strings first. Suddenly, Seulgi's mind begun to work. Why were there two emblems. Why not just one like all the other times? Why was it now different.
„Wait!", she screamed, letting all the others flinch a bit. „Hell what's wrong?", Chae asked. „Don't you think it's strange that there exist two doors? Doesn't that mean that we have to choose the right one?", Seulgi started to share her recent thoughts. Jisoo shrugged. „She could be right. Arnold Priston counts on intelligenz and strategy, not luck. This has a meaning."
„But how can we find out that meaning?", Jihyo now asked curiously and tilted her head. „Is there any math term we have to solve?" Seulgi glaced at Jihyo who was now busy looking for some terms or numbers at the walls which surrounded them. Irene took her wrist and shook her head.
„Split up", Mina blurted out while facing the emblems. „Huh what?", Jisoo asked and rolled her eyes. „She means we have to split up.", Chae said. „While you where busy trying to find out which emblem we should choose, I tried to open one but failed. I guess you have to open them at the same time."
A silent „oh" echoed in the room. Seulgi furrowed her eyebrows, feeling a bit shaky right now. They had to open them at the same time. To split up? That wasn't fitting into the pattern. But Seulgi was right. Arnold Priston didn't play with luck.
„We enter at the same time, I suggest", Mina said and turned around. „So two teams."
Seulgi's hand reached out for Irene's and grabbed it, making sure that her girlfriend and her wouldn't be seperated. She has maybe overcome her fear, but she would never miss a chance to protect the raven haired girl. As Irene also moved a bit closer, she sighed in relieve.
„I take the right door", Jihyo said straightforward and marched to the emblem. The others stayed still. Then Irene spoke: „We take the left." Seulgi followed her. All watched them in silence. Then Jisoo did the next move. „I guess we can't let Jihyo go alone." She gave the latter the company.
Mina and Chae faced each other. „You go with Seulgi and Irene okay?", Chae whispered to Mina. For a second, her face remained out of stone, then she nodded. Chae took out the list again and inspected it. Meanwhile, Irene approached Jisoo. They exchanged a few words, then, Jisoo got back to the emblem.
Mina and Chae did the same before they got ready to open the doors. „And if something strange happens, we immediately leave whatever will be behind that!", Irene instructed. Everybody agreed. Then Mina took the items at the wall and began to order them.
„Good luck", Chae whispered, then, they both walked through the open entrance and got seperated.
under the school yard; 11:53pm
The clicking of the door appeared as we all walked through it. No it was locked again. I didn't waste my time with the door behind me, instead, I concentrated on the room in front of me. To my surprise, it was no corridor. The walls where all covered with tiles in gray and blue colours with where already dirty with a touch of green. At the backwall, the school emblem could be seen.
But that wasn't the weirdest part. In front of me, in the middle of the room, was a pool. A pool filled with water.
„Are we going to swim?", Jihyo teased and touched the water surface with the tip of her shoe. Soft waves built up in the pool.
„I guess not", Jisoo mumbled and inspected the tiles at the walls. I groaned and sinked to the floor. This Arnold Priston was surely a psycho. And too invested in his teaching stuff. What should we do with a pool? I definitely won't go swimming...
„Here is... nothing.", Jisoo stated and walked another time around the pool.
„I realised that too", Jihyo hissed sharply and spread her body on the floor. Jisoo glared at her but said nothing. I shifted my gaze to the pool again.
„How deep is that?", I asked.
Jisoo frowned. „I guess six meters. You can barely see the ground, but it's pretty deep."
„That's creepy. What if some sharks will eat us...", Jihyo commented and lifted her head. Jisoo rolled her eyes while I chuckled.
„Then go in and find it out", she said to Jihyo and lifted her eyebrows.
„Is here any hint on what the hell we should do now?", Jihyo asked.
„No, but you could help looking for one", Jisoo hissed with another eye roll. I glanced at the latter who was standing there, the arms crossed in front of her chest.
„Don't act like a leader to me. I can still do what I want. Looking around like a fool won't give us the answer", Jihyo answered.
„So you talk out of experience?" Jisoo smirked. Jihyo snorted and got up.
„So you do? I thought you have never been in this section here...", she mentioned and did the same position as Jihyo. My gaze switched between them, already predicting what will happen. Couldn't they just shut the fuck up and concentrate on the important stuff?
„But I guess we can't trust you either way", Jihyo now continued. I mentally facepalmed.
„Guys, this is stupid. Can't we just peacfully-„ -apparently we couldn't. They didn't even listened to me, instead, Jisoo took a step forward.
„So you don't trust me huh?"
„Why the hell should I? And even if I did; You sacrificed Wendy for this stupid investigations. And now we are here. Everything just happened because of YOU!" Jihyo pointed her index finger at Jisoo's chest. The latter stood still. Her eyes were dark.
„Take. That. Back."
