Sofia's POV

I wake up and get out of the comfort of Shane's bed. I know that this isn't a good idea. I'm also still a bit intoxicated from earlier, which is giving me the smallest bit of encouragement that I need.

I open the door quietly and see Shane's sleeping figure sprawled out on the pull out couch. Even in the darkness, I can see how absolutely perfect he is. He took his shirt off, leaving him in only a pair of sweatpants. As I get closer, I see on arm resting just above his head, revealing the muscle that he has always been proud to show off. Even in his sleep- he looks amazing.

Just do it, Sofia. Just do it.

I walk over to the couch and move into the small space left empty. He doesn't stir even slightly, which makes me feel a little bit better. However, it is stopping the inevitable. Inhale deeply and begin scooting in closer, waiting for him to wake up.

His quick inhale causes my heart to skip a beat. He won't be mad at me. I know he won't. He may put me back into his bed, but he won't be mad at me. As I wait for what I think might be the most embarrassing moment of my life- I am pleased to say the least when I only see him looking at me questionably.

"Sofie?" He asks in a whisper.

"Hi." I say quietly.

"Are you okay?" He asks, beginning to sit up.

"I just want to sleep out here with you." I admit shamefully.

"Sof." He sighs.

"Please?" I whisper in a soft plead.

He looks at me with a look that I can't quite recognize before letting out a final sigh and pulling me towards him.

"Go to sleep." He mutters, pulling the cover over my shoulder.

"I'm sorry I kept you up all night." I whisper, letting my face fall against his chest. While this isn't exactly the most comfortable position nor is his chest very comfortable- I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the entire world. I could be offered the softest pillow that has ever existed and I would still pick right here over it any day.

"Don't be." He whispers. "I'd rather you be here than sleeping in your backyard. Or God knows where else."

"Thank you for picking me up." I say, looking up at him only to see him looking down at me as well.

"You know that you can always call me. I'll always answer." He whispers.

"I know." I say. "That's why I love you."

He's silent for a minute before answering, which I'm honestly surprised he even does.

"I love you too, Sofie." He replies. "Now shut up and go to sleep." He laughs.

"You have to be up for work in like an hour." I point out.

"No I don't." He yawns. "Called out. Throwing up." He laughs.

"Really?" I laugh quietly.

"Yup. But that means we can't leave here until Grayson is at least five miles away from this apartment complex. Otherwise, I will surely be a dead man."

"You didn't do anything wrong, though."

"I know." He nods. "But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't be a dead man." He adds.

I know that even if Grayson did know that I was here right now, he wouldn't do anything that Shane is so convinced that he would do. Well, other than be really pissed off at me.

"You could have just taken me to Grayson's apartment. He would have woken up." I point out.

"I know." He mutters.

"Why didn't you?" I ask, curious to know his answer.

"Sofie." He whispers, pulling the cover up and over my shoulder once more. "Shut up and go to sleep." He laughs, ending the conversation.

"Goodnight." I whisper.

"Goodnight." He replies.

I don't fall asleep until I hear the light snores fill the room once more.
