Sofia's POV

"You're home already?" Shane calls from the kitchen.

"Yeah." I mutter to myself.

"What's wrong?" He asks, quirking an eyebrow at me with concern.

"Nothing!" I reply in a high pitched voice.

"You're lying." He replies, turning the stove off and crossing his arms across his chest.

"No I'm not." I scoff.

"You are. I know this because your voice raised like ten octaves." He laughs. "Come here."

I go over to him and enter his outstretched arms. Shane's hugs are the best in the entire world. I remember that these hugs are what I used too long for growing up. Now, I get them whenever I want them.

"Why are you upset?" He mutters, kissing the top of my head.

"I'm not upset." I assure him. "Just...Okay, don't say anything." I say, getting ready to tell him everything.

I know that Natalia is my friend. Hell, Grayson's my brother and Shane's best friend. But over anything  and everyone else, Shane is my ultimate best friend and I tell him everything. And I do mean everything.

"Of course." He laughs.

"Natalia just had a pregnancy scare." I say in a whisper.

"Damn, no shit?" He scoffs with a laugh. "Wait. It is just a scare...right?" He asks.

"Well, duh." I say, rolling my eyes. "You really think I would be this calm if it wasn't?" I ask.

"Valid point." He says with a nod of agreement. "Does Gray know?" He asks.

"No, and he's not going to know either. I mean it, Shane. Don't go running your big mouth to him." I warn.

"Says the one who just ran to me the second she got home." He laughs.

"Yeah, well you don't count. I tell you everything." I say with a small smile.

"I know. It love it." He smiles, kissing the tip of my nose. "And you."

"Pinky promise me that you won't tell Grayson." I say.

"Sofie..." He groans.

"Shane." I say in my best stern voice.

He narrows his eyes at me to see how serious I am.

"Shane Jason York." I say, putting my foot down.

"Okay, okay." He says, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "I pink promise."

I told my pinky out to him to grasp and he does so quickly.

"Thank you." I smile.

"Now tell me, why are you upset about it?" He asks with curiosity.

"I don't know." I shrug. "I like babies."

"Grayson doesn't." He reminds me.

"I know." I say, rolling my eyes.

"I don't think Natalia does, either." He adds.

"She was pretty relieved." I nod. "I still think it would have been cool. Grayson's getting old. He needs to start having kids."

"He's not even thirty one yet." Shane laughs. "Plus, him and I are the same age. And I am most certainly not old."

"Ehh." I say in disagreement. I start laughing when he gives me a look of mock horror. "Kidding. You're still young and hip."

"God, when you say it like that I feel old as hell." He scoffs.
