Kenli pov;
I woke up to the sound of my phone going off I laid there rubbing my eyes.. That was all a dream Luke never came over, never texted me, never said he loved me.. "Wow" I mumbled standing up looking at my phone I had 3 texts from Luke *Hey What time is Kolbs bday party?* sent at 7am. The next one read *Are you okay? I'm sorry about how last night went* sent at 7:15am. And the last one said *Kj.. Where are you? I'm about to come over!* sent just a few minutes ago.. "Ugh" I moaned getting up I texted him back *be here whenever. Party starts at 6. I just woke up or shall I say you woke me up.* I hit send and went to take a shower. I washed my hair and let it air dry put on my shorts and a tank top with my boots and checked my phone I had a text from Luke saying he'd be here by 2 I replied with a simple *ok* before walking downstairs mom was making breakfast and Kolbs was sitting at the table finishing breakfast "happy birthday Kolbi Lane" I said messing up his hair he soon slapped my hand away. "what are you like 40 now?" I said jokingly "now I'm 9!" He said irritated "I know! I remember when you were born!" I said laughing walking over to get a plate for breakfast "so you know Lukes coming right?!" I said and he looked over at me "He is!!?" He asked all excited "of course! He wouldn't miss it for the world!" I said as my phone buzzed I looked at it and it was a text from Luke *yall need anything from the store before I head over??* "hey momma do we need anything from the store Lukes in town and wants to know" I asked. "Yes please tell him to get hamburger buns and another thing of punch please!" She pleaded *a thang of Punch and hamburger buns please* I sent before sitting down and eating my breakfast.

Kj pov;
Before I knew it Luke was here I was in my room getting ready when he walked in "whoa!" I stated as he walked in. "I'm getting dressed here" I said turning around trying to find a shirt to
Go over my undershirt. "It's not like you're naked!" He stated as he laid on my bed "please come in make yourself at home" I said laughing as I put on one of the wrangler button ups I had stole from Luke. "so me and Cayley broke up" Luke said out of no where "why?" I asked looking at him "well last night after you left and mom and dad went inside it was just me and her and she was whining about me coming to Kolbs birthday party and not meeting her at the café. I told her I had to be there cause he's like my Little brother. she then she proceeded to say that I had to pick between you or her and a bunch of other bullshit.. so I simply told her that you're my best friend and I couldn't live without you and if she couldn't get past that then she needed to find someone new and with that she got up and left.. Had someone pick her up" he said still laying on my bed "wow!" I said kinda surprised "yeah" Luke said laughing I turned around and tried to find a pair of shorts but my drawer was empty "wear these!" Luke said holding up a pair of my cut off shorts. "Really?" I said laughing "yes!" He said as he handed them to me "fine! Get out and I'll put them on!" I said laughing "you're no fun!" He said as he closed the door and walked out I laughed and slipped them on real quick before telling him it's clear cause he stood right there at the door! "See those look good" he said smirking "Thomas Luther! You better quit" I warned as I grabbed my phone and put it in my back pocket. "Let's go set up outside" I said pushing him out of the way "rude!" Luke said as he stumbled a few feet backward I laughed as I walked downstairs. "These go outside right!" I said grabbed the decoration bag "yes honey! Thank you!" She said collecting the stuff for the grill "Luke?" She called out "yes ma'am?" He said walking to her. "Will you please set up the grill?" She pleaded "yes ma'am I sure will!" His southern accent filled the air. I walked out to our back deck and turned on the stereo to classic country and (Shameless by Garth Brooks) came blaring threw the speakers and here came Luke singing "I'm shameless" he hollered out and I busted out laughing shaking my head "you're a dork!" I said sticking out my tongue as I walked off.
Luke pov;
I stood there doing the grill watching Kj as shameless played on the stereo "but I've never been in love like this" I sang out looking at Kj she looked at me and brushed it off I laughed to myself and turned back around to the grill and put the burgers on. Next on the radio was (It Just comes Natural by George Strait) I sang ever word to it and Kj even came up on the deck and joined me. Little did she know I actually loved her more than a best friend... I just don't know how to tell her.. The burgers were on and we started dancing around like fools. I looked into her blue eyes and smiled "it's what I was born to do don't have to thank it threw baby it's so easy lovin you!" I sang looking into her eyes..
