Chapter 39

Luke

Kaelyn pushed and on the 4th time we heard our precious little Paisley cry.. they wrapped her in a blanket and handed her to Kj.. I couldn't help but smile and tear up at the sight.. she was perfect.. she had my nose Kjs eyes, and the cutest little chubby face..

The nurses took her to clear her up and I sat down beside Kj..

"We did it" she breathed

"You did it!" I smiled "my hand hurts like pure hell but it was worth it.. she's perfect"

Kj laughed and tears filled her eyes some more "she looks like her daddy" she smiled

"She's got your lips and beautiful features" I smiled

The nurses brought Paisley back over to us and I got to hold her this time.. tears filled my eyes as I stared at my beautiful baby girl, I never thought I could love anything this much but she completely won my heart over..

Momma Johnson walked in with a big smile on her face and tears in her eyes as I handed her over.. then my momma walked in behind her.

"Congrats you two!" Momma Bryan said and hugged me and Kj..

The nurse walked up with some paper work and a welcome thing for the baby..

"Do we have a name picked out for this beautiful baby girl?" The nurse asked

I turned and looked at Kj and she looked at me and I smiled and shook my head.

"Paisley Rae Bryan" Kj said proudly and I smiled.

"She's 6lbs 3oz 15 in long, born at 4:23am, congratulations you two!" The nurse said and handed us the paperwork.

"I love the name" momma Johnson said smiling as she handed her over to momma Bryan.

My perfect baby girl was here.. she looked jus like her daddy in a lot of ways with my lips. She stole my heart from the get go and I couldn't wait to see what life has in store for us..

Lukes been so sweet the last few days and especially tonight.. His heart filled with joy and love just as much as mine did tonight.. he still had ahold of my hand and was rubbing circles over my knuckles.

"We made that" I whispered trying not to cry

"I know.. amazing aint it?" He whispered and kissed my forehead

Momma Bryan brought Paisley back over to me and I took her in my arms..

"Hi baby girl" I said and she smiled "it's your momma" I whispered and kissed her soft little cheek.

Her eyes opened and she yawned real big and we couldn't help but giggle.. she smiled up at Luke and giggled herself..

"That handsome man is your daddy" I said laughing

Luke bent down and kissed her softly on the forehead and ran his thumb over her cheek.. tears were in his eyes once again and rolling down his cheek..

I looked up at Luke and he looked at me tears were in both our eyes and his free hand wiped my tears again.. He leaned in slowly and kissed me.. a long passionate kiss.. Paisley giggled as he pulled away but my body was breathless.

"I love you" he whispered his forehead on mine

"I love you Luke" I slowly said not breaking eye contact..

A smile spread across his face and then he looked down at Paisley, she was staring at him.

"Go see your daddy" I smiled handing her to him..

"We're gonna go and leave y'all alone, we love y'all and will see you later" momma bryan said and winked at me.

While Luke held Paisley over on the rocker chair they had in the room I managed to try and get myself more comfortable and cleaned up better.. once I laid back down I looked over and he was rocking her to sleep singing a song I didn't recognize. I grabbed my phone off the night table and snapped a few photos..

A lot has happened tonight and I'm not sure where it leaves Luke and I, all I know is we have a healthy baby girl I couldn't be happier.. It was almost 6am now and I was exhausted.. Luke had her fast asleep, I could already tell she was gonna be a daddy's girl.

"I'm gonna try and catch some sleep while I can" I smiled

He nodded and held her closer to him as he walked over to me and sat beside me on the bed.. I curled up to his side and kissed her goodnight, he placed her in the little crib thing they had for us sitting beside the bed and then to my surprise he came back and slid in bed with me..

He wrapped his arms around me and I curled up to him.. The familiar arms that wrapped around me felt like home..

A few hours later I woke up to my beautiful baby girl crying.. Luke shifted then jumped up, he picked her up and calmed her down but she was still fussy..

"What's wrong with her" his face was worried

"Luke she's probably hungry" I laughed "give her here"

I unsnapped my hospital gown and cuddled her to me so she could eat..

"You're breastfeeding?" Luke questioned

I looked up at him confused "it's healthier for the baby"

"I guess I never really thought about it" he smiled

He sat down on the bed and kissed my forehead.. he stared down at Paisley with happiness written all over his face. I knew it was gonna be a long few weeks adjusting to everything but I was ready to take on the world for my baby girl.. there wasn't a thing I wouldn't do for her to be happy, and I'm thankful her daddy feels the same way..

After she finished eating I burped her and then rocked her back to sleep.. she was so precious I could look at her all night long and fall more in love each minute..

I placed her carefully back in the crib and sat back down by Luke..

"Can we talk" he whispered

I looked at him confused "we just have to whisper so the baby don't wake"

"No, I mean about us Kj"

I looked at him again and nodded
