Luke went back and I sat there in the chair reading the latest big news and stars in country music. A new name in the industry I didn't recognize was having a baby and couldn't be happier the article said.
I leaned back and closed my eyes rubbing my stomach I didn't know if I was pregnant or if it was just the flu I was catching but something was definitely going on.. and I'm not sure if me and Luke are ready for a child.. I mean we're putting all our money into a beautiful rent out and Lukes music.. and if we had a baby that would mean me working two jobs still and managing to be a good mother on top on that.. Lukes about to be busy focusing on his music career he won't really have time to be a father at the moment and I know he would flip out if I were to end up pregnant right now, because it might possibly hold back his career and I don't want that at all..
I took a deep breath and tried to relax if worse came to worse I knew Luke would still be a could father even if we took a break while his music career starts up. I could go stay with my mom for a while if I needed so we could get things settled. Either way I just hoped for the best, but deep down in me I knew things were probably about to take a turn for the worst.. I could only hope and pray I was wrong.
Luke
They stepped out and I opened the papers. There were two sheets of lyrics the song was wrote by a writer I didn't recognize but from what I read the song was so far so good.. I strummed a few cords on the guitar to try and put it together. By the time the producers came back in I pretty much had it all down the way I wanted it to sound.
"Hope we gave you enough time mr. Bryan"
"Please call me Luke sir and yes I think I've got it"
"Carry on then" they sat down and smiled
I got situated on the stool and picked my guitar back up.. I set the lyrics in order on the stand and began.
"Lazy yellow moon comin up tonight
Shinin through the trees
Crickets are singin and lightning bugs
Are floatin on the breeze
Baby get ready..Across the field where the creek
Turns back by the ole stump road
I'm gonna take you to a
Special place that nobody knowsBaby get ready, ooh
You and me going fishing in the dark,
Lying on our backs and counting the stars
Where the cool grass grows
Down by the river in the full moon light,
We'll be fallin' in love in the middle of the night
Just movin slow..I got through the main part of the song and finished. They all seemed please with the way I sang it. They wrote something down and then huddled together once more.. I looked down at the ground and said another silent prayer.
"Mr. Bryan" the older gentlemen said
I looked up
"We think you'll be country's new biggest star! We would love to sign you on with our record company"
"That's great!" I smiled
"We would love to see some other songs you have wrote and pick out a few for you to start working on an album, but first we're gonna talk it over and decide which song we want you to cut a single with"
"Sounds great!" I said standing to shake their hands.
I put my guitar up and then they had a few papers for me to sign and fill out.. they told me to take it to the front desk when I was done and that they would call me sometime next week to get started with my career. I couldn't be happier right now everything was falling into place perfectly..
