Chapter 17

Luke

I honesty didn't know what to do with Kaelyn and the whole situation.. It drove me crazy but I had to figure something out.. I pulled up to mamas house and got out and went inside. Pa was finishing up his breakfast, it looks like he got a late start today too. Momma offered me some food but I told her I already ate. I went down to my room putting my guitar where it belonged and my book I had that I kept songs I wrote in on my bed. I walked back upstairs and we went out to the barn to get our long day started.

"Is everything okay?" My dad asked once we reached the barn

"Yeah just kinda got into it with Kaelyn but it's ok" I said and climbed up into the case.

My dad shook his head and wasn't far behind me..

The sun was beating down on us on this pretty Friday afternoon.. It was just an ordinary day but my mind kept drifting off back to Kaelyn. I shouldn't have just left her like that but I didn't know what else to do. I didn't wanna blow up at her like a maniac so I did what I thought was best and just left.. It was around 9:45 when my phone rang. It was her and I didn't know weather I should answer it or not..

"Hello"

"Luke"

"Yeah"

"I.. I need my best friend back" her lips I could I tell quivered

Those few words broke my heart right in two.. I hung up and did what I thought was best...

Kaelyn

I sat there on the porch after he drove off his dust tracks disappeared and the sun was up heat beating down my arms started to burn.. I didn't know wether I should call Luke or not.. My mom walked out on her way to work in a hurry but stopped when she saw me.

"Honey what's wrong" she questioned looked down at me

I told her about the fight me and Luke had and everything and she sat down beside me.

"I think you should call him, you know he loves you just as much as you love him" she said

"He sure didn't act like it this morning"

"So are you saying the sparkles in his eyes were gone when he looked at you?"

"No" I softly said.

"They say you hurt the people you love the most" my mom said as she kissed my head and hurried off to work.

I got up and went and took a shower and then fixed Kolbs some breakfast and turned on Netflix for him.. I did the dishes and everything and dried them and cleaned the house up a little before I decided to call him..

"Hello" his voice spoke softly

"Luke"

"Yeah"

"I.. I need my best friend.." My voice cracked

I heard a deep in my ear and he had hung up.. I was so confused.. I told Kolbi I was gonna lay down and went up to my room breaking down in tears.. I didn't know what else he wanted from me, I told him I was sorry and that it didn't mean anything to me..
I had my back against the door when I heard my bedroom door open slowly.

"Kolbi I don't feel good.. Please leave me alone for a little while" I said

I felt the bed bend down and arms wrap around me, I jumped at first before realizing it was Luke.. I turned around and wrapped my arms around him blurring my head in the crease of his sweaty neck..

Luke

I hung the phone up and called the ranch hand we had to come take my place. I told my dad that I had to go take care of somthin and he nodded his head and let me go..

I drove as fast as I could to her house. I walked in and she wasn't in the kitchen and then Kolbi told me she went to bed.. I went up the stairs quietly and opened her door slowly

"Kolbi I don't feel good.. Please leave me alone for a little while" she said

I stepped forward making my way to her bed without saying a word and wrapped my arms around her. She jumped but then fell into my touch.. God I love this women I thought to myself.. I kissed the top of her head and held her, tears were streaming down her face and tried to calm her down..

"Babygirl I'm so sorry"

"I don't even care anymore Luke I just missed you" she said and clung to me.

I smiled as she looked up at me and kissed her lips softly before deepening the kiss.. She leaned into my touches and I slipped my hand In the back of her shirt and her undershirt.. I unhooked her bra and laid her down on the bed climbing on top of her softly kissing her neck up to her jawline back to her lips leaving little trails of kisses.. Slipping her shirt off slowly and undoing her bra, she slid my shirt off and undid my belt loop unbuttoning my jeans.. I leaned down and kissed her again her body clinging to mine I knew she was ready for this just as much as I was..
