Chapter 26

Kaelyn

"Luke that's a big move and so sudden.." I softly spoke trying to wrap my head around everything he just said.

"I know it's sudden but it's a great opportunity baby" he sounded excited for this and I felt bad if I turned him down.

I took a sip of my wine and set it on the coffee table and turned to sit towards Luke. I wasn't sure if I was ready to make such a big move so soon but then again I'm absolutely ready to move on in life with the man I love.

"When would we move?" I questioned

"We'd go up there and look for a place this weekend and if we found one we liked then we could get it and move as soon as possible"

I nodded and looked down at my hands. Luke scooted over closer to me pulling me into his lap and tilted my face so our eyes could meet.

"How about I got up there Friday, talk to the guy that wants to hear me sing and loom around for a few places myself.. And if I have too ill go up there alone for a little while if you're not ready to move and we can make it work" I could still hear the hope in his voice.

"Okay" I whispered

He smiled and leaned in to kiss me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. Moving to Nashville would be totally different, I've never been to a big city like that I can only Imagine the traffic..

We finished our drinks and then went on to bed. It's was late and we both had work the next morning.

I laid there wide awake as Luke was snuggled up to me and fast asleep. Moving go Nash. Away from my mom and brother.. Away from home. No more little town living.. It's all going to be so different and I'm not sure I'm quite ready for this.

Morning

I got Luke up around around for work and after he left I decided to call in for babysitting shift. I knew it was momma's day of today and I think I need to go talk to her bout Nashville.

I took a shower and put on a pair of shorts a tank top and my flip flops.

I grabbed my keys and walked out the door heading to momma's house stopping for a quick coffee on the way..

"Kaelyn honey what're you doing here" she smiled as I opened the door

"Took the day off thought I would stop by I also need to talk to you"

Her smiled faded and turned into worry..

"It's about Luke and Nashville" I smiled

She nodded and turned around and I followed her into the kitchen. She was fixing breakfast for her and Kolbi but I don't think he was even outta bed yet. I sat down at the table and momma turned around.

"Okay explain" she said

"Lukes ready to move to Nashville as soon as possible. He's got money saved up and he's going up there Friday to look at apartments and maybe Sign a record deal.."

"That's great honey"

"I just don't know momma.." "Just moving away from home from a small town to a big city"

"It will be a big change baby girl but I think you a Luke would be a lot happier"

Me and mom finished up talking and I ate breakfast with her and Kolbi was happy to see me. I stayed and watched a movie with him and then I decided to go home and get ready for my night shift tonight. I put some food in the fridge for Luke to heat up when he got home tonight and then I went in a little bit early.

Luke

Kaelyn wasn't to keen on the Nashville idea and I knew I needed someway to change her mind. Let her know that we could make it together there.. That we would be happier and then Eventually buy a nice house and start a little family of our own.

On my break I decided to look at apartments online in Nashville. They had them ranging anywhere from $800-$2000+ the more you pay the nicer you get.. Apartments were just as expensive as a really nice house here in Lee county.

Crazy but I found one I really liked and I think Kj would love it.. It was a Two bedroom house actually one and half bath, a nice sized kitchen-living room area. A nice little yard and had a in-ground pool, tennis court and says a game room. It says an older couple own the main house and they are renting our their guest house in the back. $1,000 a month all bills paid, Just need to help with pool cleaning.

I called the number and set up a time to come by the house and look on Friday. The older woman sounder super friendly and happy someone had called. I was shocked no one had jumped on this offer yet.

As I went back to work I took a deep breath and it felt like everything was finally going to work out and be okay. I got Kj back in my life, I got a music career starting soon hopefully and if it all works out I'll have a nice little place to move Kj and myself into to start the next chapter of our life..

After work that night I went home saw Kj put food in the fridge for me to cook for supper. I took a quick shower just putting shorts on afterward and went and started supper waiting for her to get home. I couldn't wait to share the news with her, and I prayed she would agree to come to Nashville with me..
