Chapter 28

Luke

I was up bright and early to head to Nashville, Kaelyn was slowly getting ready. She was really tired I could tell. She took a shower and I went and loaded the truck. We were taking her truck to her moms house while we were gone. I finished loading the truck and went to she how she was coming along.  It was earlier than normal for her and she is so not a morning person.

After about 30 minutes we were on our way to her moms. We dropped the truck off and then we were on our way to Nashville. But first Kj was really craving a McDonald's breakfast so we has to stop.

Two sausage biscuits and hash browns with sweet tea later we were officially on the highway to Tennessee.

She wasn't feeling all that great today so she curled up in one of my hoodies and a blanket wrapped around her legs. It wasn't cold out but I guess the ac chilled her.. It was about a 6 hour drive and it was still early in the morning. The sun was just coming up. We should arrive around noon and I couldn't wait to go look at the house. And then I also had my interview at 4..

Kj

I wasn't feeling great this morning at all I felt nauseous and then I was craving McDonald's but I just figured it was because my period was due to start a few days ago and it was coming now now. It happens every so often so I just trued my best to relax on the trip to Nashville. 

I didn't wanna worry Luke about anything so I just kept it to myself and told him I was tired. Which wasn't a complete  lie I have been strangely exhausted for a while now but I figured it's because I have been working more hours than usual to make this trip possible.

Luke was singing along to the radio as I drifted off to sleep, my hand in his he was running his thumb in circles over mine. I was truly lucky to have this man in my life and the closer we got to Nashville the more and more I grew excited.

Few hours later

I woke up and we were stopping to get gas right outside of Nashville in the last little small town. I could tell we was getting closer to the bug city because of all the people. It was crowded everywhere.

Luke came around and helped me out, I took his hoodie off and threw it in the truck. I was in my tank top and shorts with flip flops.  I wasn't cold anymore but I wasn't hot I felt normal.

We walked in the store hand in hand and a group of women turned around to look at Luke like he was a piece of candy. Yeah keep looking but I'm the only one that gets to taste his candy I thought to myself as I pulled him closer.

"Do you want anything to snack on or drink?"

"Apple juice and a chocolate bar" I smiled

He looked at me weirdly but shook it off as I went to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and I looked flushed but drained all in one. I redid my pony-tale and adjusted my tshirt before I walked back out to meet Luke. He was in line paying when I walked up behind him laying my head on his back.

"$60.81 is your total"
The lady spoke looking Luke up and down.

I rolled my eyes wrapping my arm around his waist and she glared at me. Back off Barbie this mans mine I grinned as I kept that to myself. If this is how the city life is gonna be then I'm gonna hate it but I suppose I'll get use to it.

Luke grabbed the bag and my hand with his other hand and walked us back out to the truck. He helped me in before going to pump the gas. I opened my candy bar and ate some of it and drank my juice like a little kid again. I honestly didn't know what was wrong with me other than maybe I caught a little stomach bug or something..

Luke climbed back in the truck and we were off once again to the big city.

About 12:30 we pulled up to a mansion house it looked like to look at the house we are possibly going to stay in. We walked up to the door and Luke knocked shortly after a mid aged women opened the door smiling.

"You must be Luke" she smiled opening the door to welcome us in

"Yes ma'am and this is my girlfriend Kaelyn"

"It's nice to meet y'all, I'll go get mr. And mrs. Wellington" she said as she disappeared to a bigger room.

Luke

I was really excited to see this place, if it was anything like the inside of this house then I could for sure see us living here. This place is beautiful. A few moments later a older couple came in the room, he walked with a cane and she was right behind him bith smiling.

"Luke nice to finally meet you" the elder women said

"This is my girlfriend Kaelyn" I smiled

"I'm Debbie Wellington and this is Earl"

We all introduced ourselves and then we walked out back..

There was the tennis court a little ways a way from the back of their house, and then the pool was directly behind that with a little covered patio area in between with  a grill and a chair and tables. Then there was tall bushes with a gate in the middle and some trees with a walkway that lead back to the guest house.

Me and Kj followed them as they talked us through the yard work how their grandsons commonly comes every Thursday to mow and maintain the yard and how they have a old poodle but she stays inside most of the time.

When we finally got to the house there was a nice big front porch with a swing that's a big bonus. We walked in the front door and there was the living rook to the left and the kitchen to the right. It was Nicely furnished with a wrap around leather couch and recliner, a nice flat screen tv, book shelf the whole nine yards, then the kitchen was super nice a little out dated but a lot nicer and bigger than what we have now.. Off the living room was the dining room a nice big old oak table with basic chairs nothin to fancy. Then they showed us the half bath it was nice, the laundry room off of that and then the bedrooms were nice and big also. This house is super nice for $1,000 a month.

"what do you think?" I whispered to Kj

"When can we move in" she said looking awed

I smiled knowing that this was soon to be our home.
