Chapter 21

Luke

I went and they offering me and drink and I lost track of time.. They offered me a drink and then one lead to two and two lead to three and so on.. They were talking about college and how one of them was the manager at the little college bar and she could get me a gig there.

I talked to them a little about how I wanted a music career and then they wanted me to sing for them.. So I did and one song lead to two and so on again.. It didn't seem like much time had went by.. All the girls but the blonde one Caroline went to bed..

We stayed up had a few drinks a few to many I suppose because before I knew it the blonde was on my lap kissing my neck.. Instant hard on.. My hands ran over her body and I was leading her on just as she was me.. I laid her down on the couch and ran my hands down her shirt.. That's when I caught my snap and realized I wasn't home and this wasn't Kaelyn..

I jumped up and ran home hoping Kaelyn wasn't home but she was.. I opened the door an there she was sitting on the couch eating.. I couldn't look at her so I ran to the bathroom. Mad as hell at myself I didn't know what to do other than act like nothing happened.

After my shower I tried ignoring the fact that I was in the wrong and just shrugging it off but when Kaelyn kept questioning me I snapped. It's like she knew and there's no way she could have..

She went to bed and I knew I should've chased her but she was right and I was in the wrong.. I messed up and now I don't know what's going to come of us.. I guess since we've been working so much lately and haven't had any time alone together it was nice feeling wanted again.. But then again it's my fault it's been that way because Kaelyn came home tonight and I knew we could've had a romantic night.

I woke up the next morning puffy eyes and all.. I put my hair up and walked out to the kitchen, Luke was asleep on the couch. I honestly had no clue what had happened last night but from the way he acted and everything something I for sure wasn't going to he happy about.. Never in a million years would I think Luke to be a cheater..

I walked in the kitchen started the coffee and went to take a shower to wake up.. Putting on a simple pair of shorts and a tank top I walked back out and got me a to go cup of coffee.

I had talked to my best friend Jessica last night and we decided we'd go out for breakfast today. She was happily 5 months pregnant now and I couldn't wait to hear the new about the baby.. So much has changed since me and Luke moved its kinda like everyone's drifting apart.

I pulled up at the little home cookin café for breakfast and saw Jessica was already here. I smiled as I walked in, her baby by I had gotten so much bigger since I last seen her..

"Girl you look so good" she said looking at me

"Work" I said laughing

We sat down at the table and I ordered coffee and she got lemon water.

"So have you talked to him today?" She questioned

"He was asleep when I left"

We looked over them menu and decided we'd both get waffles. We talked about the pregnancy and her and Dustin were finally gonna tie the knot after the baby was born.. They were waiting til birth to find out the gender and I was just as excited as they were.. They both were hoping for a little boy.

We had a nice breakfast then we went for a short walk through the park and we talked about Luke and I. I honestly didn't think Luke had a cheating side or anything like that, but like they say you don't know somebody until you know..

We said our goodbyes and I figured I would go home and talk to Luke as much as I hated too I needed to get it over with.

Luke

I woke up and Kaelyn was gone but all her stuff was here thankfully.. I took a shower and made myself some eggs and toast. I didn't have to go to work until around 50 so I figured I'd watch some tv until she got home.

About an hour after I ate she came walking through the door. I turned my head to look at her but she went straight to the kitchen, I gulped and got up to follow her.

"Did you eat?" I asked

"Went out with Jessica yeah" she said putting her things on the counter.

I opened a water and took a big gulp

"Luke what really happened last night, I need to know.."

I sighed "I went over to fix their sing honestly.." ... "then they offered me a drink so I accepted" I paused again "they asked me what I did for a living and had me sing for them.." .. "One of them is a manager at the bar up by the college and told me she'd get me a gig" I paused once more "everyone went to sleep except that one girl Caroline I think her name was.." I stopped and looked down.

"And what Luke" she spoke

I looked at her and tears were forming in her eyes.

"We had a few more drinks and then she came and sat on my lap" ... "She started kissing my neck and then.." I stopped I didn't want to go any further.

"How could you?" She cried

She walked past me to the bedroom slamming the door and locking it.. My heart broke in half I didn't want to lose her.. I turned and walked to the bedroom.

"Kaelyn let me finish just open up" I spoke softly

"I can't look at you right now explain right where you are" she spat

I sighed

"Things got a little out of hand"... "I was drunk and she led me on I.. I laid her down and then I caught my snap before anything else happened" I said my voice cracking.

"So you laid her down meaning you kissed her Neck and led her on just like she did you.." She paused "and just like you use to do to me" she spat tears falling from her cheeks I could tell.

I heard the closet door slam and a few drawers.. Before to long she walked out of the room with a suitcase in her hand.

"Where are you going"

"To my moms for a while" she said not looking at me

I followed her to the bathroom and kitchen as she gathered things she needed

"Don't do this to me" I said softly

"Do what Luke? Hurt you like you just hurt me? Why don't you go crawling to your little college fling next door" she said her voice cracked.

And out the door she went.. I dropped to my knees with tears falling down my face.. My best friend, my whole world, my other half just walked out and it's all because of me.. I messed everything up and honestly didn't know what to do to change it..
