Chapter 37

Two months later
Kj

I'm at my last baby check up appointment to see how everything is going.. our little girl should be coming in a short few weeks and I'm beyond excited. Lukes tour ends December 12th just a few days before our little girl is due.

We still needed to decide on names, that was something me and him would do when he came back to town.. or maybe over text.. it was something we needed to talk about soon even though I of course have already picked out a few I like..

"Johnson" the nurse called and I went back

The doctor came in and did the normal check up, sonogram, and told me she was a healthy little baby and we should be expecting her right on time.. I was just excited to hold her in my arms for the first time..

I walked out to my truck and quickly texted Luke that everything was fine before I decided to go get some lunch.

I sat down at the back booth at the local café I ordered sweet tea with today's pulled pork special. My phone buzzed and it was a text from Luke

*awesome! I can't wait.. Have you thought of any names?*

*we need to talk about names when you have free time*

The waitress brought my food and I slide my phone to the side, I said grace and dug in. I was almost finished when Luke texted back..

*ill have free time this afternoon around 2, I'll call you then*

*okay*

I finished up my food, paid my tab and then walked out to my truck. I was kinda nervous to hear Lukes voice again it's been forever it feels like. I shook the thoughts out of my head and drove over to Kolbs school to pick him up since it was my day off and he got out early.. it's going to be really weird not working when our little girl comes but I'm definitely going to enjoy spending every moment with her..

"Sissy!" Kolbi hollered running to the truck

"Hey bud"

"Can Hunter come home with me to play since it's Friday?" He begged

"If it's okay with his mom" I smiled

They got it all sorted out and climbed in the truck I figured we would go home and I would make them a after school snack and let them build a fort or whatever they wanted..

I still had the apartment me and Luke had rented together and that's where I had the nursery set up, I moved back over there about two weeks ago and started getting everything ready for December. I helped mom with Kolbs while she worked but since it's Friday I could go home the weekend.

"Actually you know what y'all"

"What sissy"

"Would you and hunter like to spend the night with me at my house?"

"Yes!" Kolbi hollered

I laughed "alright go pack your bag and Hunter I'll call your mom and ask"

They ran off to Kolbs room and I looked for his moms number.. it was 1:45 so Luke would be calling soon..

Luke

I finished up rehearsal for to early show tonight and walked back to my bus Kaitlin my show manager was waiting for me with a cold glass of sweet tea.

"Thanks" I smiled

"I was thinking we could catch some lunch after this mornings breakfast I'm hungry" she winked at me.

I blushed and walked up into the bus..

It's been about 7 months since me and Kj broke up and I needed to let a little steam off my chest.. me and Kaitlyn have been messing around a little here and there when we have free time, I mean a guys gotta move on sometime right.

"I gotta make a call with Kaelyn so we can discuss some things about the baby.. maybe next time?" I smiled and shut the door.

I took my sweaty shirt off and changed into my Georgia Dawgs sweats that Kj had got me a while ago. I gulped down my sweet tea and found my phone to call Kj..

*hello?* her voice came threw the phone

*hey*

*hey..* she whispered

*baby names* I questioned

*yeah I was wondering if you had any ideas*

*well is she going to have my last name or yours?*

*yours of course Luke you're her father..*

*well let me hear your baby names?*

*Paisley Grace, Paisley Elizabeth, Paisley Rae.. but I don't know.. there so many options Luke*

*those are cute but what are you stuck on deciding?* a smiled appeared on my face

*The first names.. Paisley, Bailey, Peyton, Kaitlin.. Do you have any?*

*I don't like Kaitlin.. but I think I'll love whatever else you decide Kj those are all pretty names*

*Thanks Luke, when will you be in?*

*i have 3 more shows then I'll be heading that way*

I kicked back on the couch and we talked for a while about the nursery and everything. We were still on the phone and there was a knock on my door and then Kaitlyn walked in..

"Luke I grabbed you some lunch" she said as she walked in.

*Well Luke it was nice talking to you I'll see you around*

And the phone line went dead.. Kaitlyn sat down beside me on the couch and I got up to get my lunch.. I wasn't feeling up to the company right now after the phone call. I wasn't sure how I was feeling.

Me and Luke had a really good talk but once I heard a women's voice I had to go. I didn't want to know anything about his new fling, I didn't wanna know her name age or anything about her.. truth be known if I saw her I would probably slap her..

I sighed and gathered all my things up to go to my house with the boys.. We had to stop by Hunters house to grab his overnight things but then we'd be free to go.. I have games, movies and tons of snacks for them since I get weird cravings..

"Boys let's go" I hollered and they ran out to the truck.

I was happy that the apartment wouldn't be so empty tonight, I've honestly thought about getting a dog..

"What do y'all want for supper tonight?"

"Pizza!" Kolbs asked

"Pizza it is" I smiled and drove off towards the apartment..

When Luke gets to town he promised to come help with the nursery, put the crib and everything up.. I was just excited to get it all finished.

Update finally

Sorry y'all with this broke foot and my meds now makes me just wanna sleep a lot and this pain is horrible!

I'll update again soon hopefully!
