Chapter 38

Kj

Luke got to town a few weeks ago and we've got some much accomplished since, we took our pregnancy photo and then Luke and me have worked all weekend on the nursery. I'm in love with it. He took me to atlanta when he got to town and let me pick out whichever crib, changing table, dresser and decorations I wanted and so much more..

We picked out pain first and then painted the room before we went to Atlanta, then we got a hotel and had separate beds and picked out a lot of the things online and went to look at them In person the next day.

By Sunday night the nursery was finished and it was getting closer and closer to when our little Paisley would be here. It was 2:35am and me and Luke had just finished eating some cereal on the floor of the nursery.

Luke was full of paint and his hair was a mess, he did most of the work of course I helped hang things up on the wall and rearrange everything. 

"one more week and there should be a beautiful baby girl in this room with us" Luke smiled

"I can't wait"

"Me either"

Me and Luke decided that when Paisley was born he would stay here with us for a while so she would have both her parents.. Luke and me would switch off nights taking care of her and everything, that way I could get back to work when my 8 weeks is up.

We decided it was better off to stay friends right now and still do our own separate things. He's going back our tour in a few months so he'll he gone again soon..

"So you go in next Tuesday if you don't have her by then?" Luke asked confused.

"I go in Tuesday to get induced if I don't have her by then" I smiled

I placed my hand on my belly she was kicking and moving all over the place, I loved her so much already I can't even imagine how much More I'm gonna love her when she's here..

"May I?" Luke asked reaching his hand towards my belly

"Of course" I smiled

I placed his hand under mine so he could feel our little girl.

"Wow.." he said

I smiled and looked him in the eyes. I know he's going to be a great father and I can't wait to see them together.. Lord help anyone who puts her in danger..

"Well it's late and I'm getting tired" I smiled

"Me too! Here let me help you up" Luke said as he jumped up and pulled me up.

He walked me to the bedroom and kissed my belly.

"Do you care if I take a shower real quick?" He asked

"No go ahead I'll be asleep before my head hits the pillow" I smiled

I tried to get comfortable in bed. It was after 3 now and I was exhausted. We had a long past few days. It was December 13th now so we had 6 more days to go..

I was dozing off to sleep and Luke was in the shower singing, his singing always relaxed me.

I dozed off for a little while then I was jolted away.. My water broke!

"Luke!" I screamed

The water stopped and I heard a thud and the bathroom door flew open and he stood there without a towel and still dripping wet.

"what?!" He panicked

"My water broke!" I cried

"What now?!"

"Hospital now!" I hollered

I panicked, I grabbed a towel dried off as fast as I could wiping the soap off my body threw a pair of sweats on and a cut off and my hat. She was in her nigh gown as I picked her up and carried her to my truck.

"Luke the bag get the bag and my purse!" She cried

I ran into the house and grabbed the bag, her purse and my hat.

I jumped In the truck and headed towards the local hospital..

"Call mom" she grunted breathing heavy

"Baby calm down breath.. its gonna be okay!"

I dug my phone out of my pocket and called momma

*were on the way to the hospital baby's on the way!* I hung up and looked at Kj. She was holding her belly and trying to take deep breaths..

I grabbed her hand and ran my thumb over hers trying to calm her down.. I was trying not to freak out myself.. I know my face went pale when she screamed for me..

I pulled into the hospital and parked got out and helped her out into my arms and ran her into the ER.

"help we're having a baby!" I hollered.

"Okay sir calm down!"

The nurses came with a wheelchair and took us back to a room. They moved Kj to a bed and helped her put a hospital gown on.. she had ahold of my hand and was squeezing it.

"We need to ask a few questions.. who are you?" She asked lookiat me

"He's my husband" Kj grunted

"Okay, names?" She asked

"Luke Bryan, Kaelyn Bryan" I said softly

That made my heart ache when she said husband knowing damn well I didn't deserve that title..

"Okay we need dob and to see your license" the nurse asked

I fished for everything out of her purse and handed it to them.. they walked out of the room and the doctor came in.. he was a middle aged maybe 40 years old brown hairedblued eyed man that was a little to flirty with Kj and I didn't like it.

"My names Doctor Grayson, let's take a look here" he smiled

Kj looked up at me and gave me brief smile.

"Looks like you're about 8cm dilated, we'll be having this baby here shortly!"

The contractions were happening more often I could tell.. she squeezed my hand tighter and tighter..

"Sir you need to put this on over your clothes" the nurse handed me a gown type thing.

I slipped it on and then momma Johnson came threw the doors..

"Oh honey" she smiled and went up to kiss her head "I'll be right out these doors! You and Luke got this.." she gave me a swift smile and then walked out.

The doctor came in and told Kj to start pushing.. we're having this baby and we're having it soon..
