Chapter 16

Luke
I walked downstairs and she was sound asleep on the couch.. Tv remote was on the floor in front of her, her phone in her other hand. I smiled cause she looked peaceful and I couldn't be mad at her while she was asleep.. She was honestly beautiful and I guess honestly I was probably just jealous.. But just the way he hugged her jerked me wrong..

I picked her up carefully and carried her up to her bed. I laid her down and took her long sleeve shirt off because I knew she gets hot when she sleeps, I took her socks off and covered her up. She snuggled to her body pillow she has on the side of her bed by the wall.. Even though I wasn't mad it just still irritated me. I needed to clear my head so I went downstairs and got me a glass of tea grabbed my guitar and walked outside to the back deck area where the pull was up away from the house so nobody could hear me..

I stayed out there for a few hours and had a good start on a song.. It helped me clear my mind and it flowed together pretty good. I'll have to finish it later cause it's nearly 4am now.. I wondered back to the house quietly and walked upstairs crawling into bed for two hours before my alarm goes off..

Kaelyn

I woke up in my bed next to Luke.. Unlike usual his back was turned to me this morning.. I know he was upset about Tj but I figured he'd get over it.. This ain't like him to just blow up.. It was just a hug anyways and that's it, me and Tj are jus friends and that's all it's gonna be. I love Luke..

I sighed and crawled over Luke who was still sound asleep. Which is weird he always gets up when his alarm goes off usually.. I tip toed out to the bathroom and them downstairs to start him breakfast since he didn't eat last night.. I got his eggs and bacon cooking and toast in the toaster and I went to wake him. He was still sound asleep..

"Luke?" I questioned

No response

"Luke hey baby it's after 6" I said shaking him gently

"Huh" he moaned turning over

I sat down on the bed and rubbed his back, he seemed really tense..

"Aren't you suppose to help you dad again today sleepy head" I asked and kissed the back of his neck..

He rolled over on his back again eyes opened barley before he yawned and rubbed them..

"What time is it?" He questioned

"6:25am"

He nodded his head and closed his eyes..

"Wake me up at 7" he whispered before rolling back over. You could see his back muscles as the sun was coming up.. He was tan and musclier and all too perfect..

I walked back downstairs and finished breakfast. I put it in the microwave to keep it warm.. I scrolled threw my phone and had a friend request from Tj on Facebook. I hit accept and put my phone back down. It was almost 7 so I went back upstairs. He was snoring away cuddled in the blankets.

"Luke baby it's 7 you needa get up" I said shaking him awake.

"Okay I'll be down in a few" he kinda snapped.

"Breakfast will be on the table"

I walked downstairs and eat on the couch turning on the morning news just for the hell of it.. My mom was getting up I heard her come out of the bathroom. She went into the kitchen and got her mornin coffee to get ready for her day.. Maybe I should get a local job again.. That would be something to do.. I thought to myself.

I heard boots clanking down the stairs and Luke went into the kitchen.. I walked in and he was pouring himself a cup of coffee then walked to sit down at the table. He looked back at me but didn't say a word.. Weird.

"Morning to you too" I whispered walking past him to get my own cup of coffee.

He jus ignored me and ate in silence.. I sat across the table from him while he finished his food. I looked over at him and he was looking down.. He looked up at me and looked into my eyes.. I saw the confusion in his eyes..

"What's going on Luke?" I questioned.

"Nothing.. Just some stuff I have to deal with on my own" he spoke bluntly.

"You know we're in this together Luke you're not alone"

"Yeah" he said and got up to take his plate to the sink.

I stood up and be turned around and looked down at me.

"I better get going" he said looking at the clock now.

It was 7:40 now he had to be there by 8.

"See you tonight?" I questioned

"It'll probably be late by the time we finish up tonight.. I may just crash at home tonight"

"Oh okay" I whispered looking down.

I followed him out to his truck and before he got in I stopped him..

"Luke what's really wrong please tell me it's killing me"

He stopped and turned around. Tears were already forming in my eyes.

"It's stupid really" he said gently "just I didn't like the way Tj touched you and the way you leaned into him and touched him." ... "it was pretty much exactly like you touch me and that bothers me" he spoke.

"Luke I'm sorry, I don't know why I guess it was just everything happened and he was the one there" I said quietly.

Luke bit his tongue I could tell from blowing up.

"But yet I didn't have one missed call, I didn't know about anything that had happened.. Did that ever cross your mind Kaelyn?! Or the fact that you went to dinner with him an still didn't call me?"

"Luke"

"No don't Luke me.. I just don't understand"

"So what're you saying you want to end this!?"

"Kaelyn I just don't know what to do at the moment"

With that he got in his truck and left.. I stood there on our front porch and watched him drive away not exactly sure when I would see him again.. I needed someone to talk to, someone to be there for me.. I guess that's where being in a relationship with your best friend ruins everything.. I didn't really know anyone else to call other than the one that was there for me..
