Dream has never been so ice cold. There are days and nights where he would wake up without Dream beside him or even in the house. Dream would sometimes arrive home, shirts dirty and smelling like perfume and alcohol. Yes, they give each other pecks and yes, they'd have sex but something was not there and that thing was love.
The love that they once always had vanished into nothingness. The love they once gave each other was replaced with broken hearts and pain. Sometimes at night, he would secretly cry whether Dream was next to him or not. He tried to bottle his feelings but that bottle was clearly not big enough.
George thought about things and scenarios but he shrugged it off. He knew that Dream wouldn't do that. Or would he? He wouldn't listen to himself. He would block all the thoughts away and kept pushing himself to someone who might not love him. He's stupid and in love.
He did everything for Dream but did he actually? If he did why is Dream doing this to him. Hurting and neglecting him like they were nothing at all. Like George was nothing but an apparition for Dream. Why is everything in his life so messed up? What happened?
He still is asking himself what he could've done and happened. He missed the old Dream. The Dream that loved him and the Dream that gave him kisses day and night. Their old sex was full and compacted with care and love but that unfortunately changed. Was it because of George?
Was he his own traitor?
Today isn't anything better either. George is in bed, curled up in a ball like he's scared of something. Scared that everything will vanish even him. The tears reflected the orange sun. No one was there with him but his thoughts and the sun. The sun was now buried in the horizon. Even the sun left him. Nobody was there for him.
His mum never called him for the past year and he was getting worried. Maybe worrying was worthless. There weren't any breaks that he could press. It's like the game of hiding and seeks in a black box where he needs to press the pause button. In other words, it's impossible.
The end of his last school year was coming. He could finally breathe. He could hope so. He kept thinking of a plan but he was confused on whether to fix this or whether to leave it. Everything was puzzling. He's like inside of an impossible maze where the way out didn't exist. His limbs hurt from always laying on his side and his throat scratched on its surface. It's felt like slowly closing. Not long after George was hyperventilating. He was having a panic attack. His vision turned fuzzy in seconds and not only soon enough, blacked out.
:(
He woke up. The shallow water beneath him consumed his back. He stood up but nothing was wet from the water. His clothes were dry as a desert.
"George" A voice called out through the darkness. It was the voice that soothed him. The voice that he longed to hear for a long time. His headshot to the direction of the voice.
"George" It called out again. It's the voice of being desperate. Like they have something important to say. The sounds of water splashing under his feet filled the echoey place. He can't see anything but the sparkling water beneath him. He stopped as he saw a silhouette.
Brown long hair, not much taller than George. The white dress that the figure was wearing stopped right at the surface of the shallow water. She was holding a glowing ball. It looked magical and it illuminated light towards her face.
The face that smiled at George. The lips that hummed him to sleep. The eyes that protectively watched him as he played in the park.
"Mum!!!" He shouted as he ran towards the figure. The figure didn't seem to care for George as she stood in the same position, moving her hands as she balanced the ball. Just after George was about a meter away, he opened his arm for a hug but an invisible barrier stopped him pushing him inches away.
"George" her voice was echoey and relaxing. Like she's some type of a goddess. Which she is.
"Mum" the tears pricked on George's eyes. He longed for a hug from his mum but the stupid barrier around her stopped him.
"George, son, I'm going to be straightforward because we don't have much time" she hurriedly explained.
"No, I want to be with you mum" George insisted. Her mum softly smiled at him. Her eyes were now glassy.
"I would want that too but I'm sorry, that wouldn't happen. I've called you to tell you that I love you. I've seen you so broken and seeing you like that made me upset with myself. I could've been there for you but the universe didn't let that happen because the universe is unfair. I wanted to tell you that you will go through this and I will be by your side-"
She was cut off by a faint growl in the distance,
"I love you son and trust me it might be hard right now but you will get through this" She smiled at George as a creature behind her emerged. It was huge and has big claws with sharp nails that targeted her chest.
"Wake up, son" She whispered but before the nail was dug on her chest. He shot up from his bed. A drop of sweat trickled down his temple. It was a dream. A couple of faint knocking can be heard.
'It's probably Dream' he sighed and got up, working his way down towards the front door. A meter away and he could hear talking on the other side. He opens the door with a creak welcoming Dream and... Caoimhe? How is she here?
He gave Dream a confused looked but Dream didn't look at him instead Dream dragged Caoimhe upstairs like he was nothing but air. His heart broke at the sight of Dream kissing Caoimhe in the lips as they walked upstairs to the bedroom. His legs felt weak like jello as they collapsed under him. He was a sobbing mess.
Tears ran down from his eyes and snot ran down from his nose. He ran upstairs towards the guest bedroom and cried his feelings out as he heard the muffled giggles and laughs from the other side of the wall. He bitterly smiled,
'They sound so happy' He continued to cry. The small giggles and moans are like poison that entered his ears and went straight to his heart. The pain sent vibrations through his body making him shiver from the lack of warmth. The lack of love. He cried and cried until he accidentally slipped into a slumber. He was shattered.
