Chapter 40: Secret

Chapter 40

Truly agitated, pabalik balik ang lakad ko habang sinusundan ang sapatos kong umaapak sa marmol na sahig ng condo na ito. I looked at my white bottega veneta square toe heels as if I could see a solution right down there to my problem as of this moment.

Nakapatong ang kanang siko ko sa kaliwang kamay na nasa aking dibdib, habang ang mga daliri naman ay nasa aking labi. I kept playing my lips unconsciously. Dala siguro ng pangamba at halong takot sa mga naiisip ko.

Damn it! Where could be he is? Where did he go after he went to my pastry and didn't even bother to show up? Did he saw me with Yno? Definitely yes, he did!

Maybe the reason why after last night, I haven't still received any reply from my messages to him! And it's six in the evening right now, yet we also haven't heard anything from Austin since this morning. Atleast even updates pero wala talaga, kahit isa! And it's making me more frustrated in each minutes that would pass through that anchor wall clock I am seeing right in the center of Avier's condo unit.

Napabuga ako ng malalim at nilagay ang dalawang kamay sa bulsa. Nagtama ang mata namin ni Draia nang umikot ulit ako para sa walang katapusan na pabalik-balik. My hands on my powder blue loose long coat pockets just wouldn't be at peace together with my guilty mind.

"Calvin's men just gave me an update," si Draia sa akin habang naka-upo siya sa couch, legs are in cross-over as she's sitting straight in that gray one seater.

Napatigil ako. I glanced at Engineer Avier Sereneo who moved a bit after he heard Draia. Nakatayo siya sa malayo, sa may bar area ng kanyang condo habang may hawak-hawak na whiskey sa kamay. We exhanged look for a bit.

Siya sa seryoso at tahimik lang na mga mata at ako, medyo unti-unting nabuhayan pero ang kaba ay nand'yan pa rin. It's like it would not really vanish not until Louis Austin would appear right infront of my own eyes, safe and sound.

"And? What's their update about? Did they get access through Austin's condo?" Tanong ko agad kay Draia nang binaling ko ang atensyon sa kanya.

Napatiim bagang ako nang iling lang ang naging sagot ng matalik kong kaibigan. Napatulala ako ng ilang saglit.

"Saan pa ba ang pwede niyang puntahan?" I asked everyone annoyingly out of my frustration.

Nasapo ko ang noo nang matanto kong kanina pa masyadong mainit ang aking ulo sa mga kaibigan. It's not their fault why I am at this state. And clearly, hindi rin nila kasalanan bakit hindi namin mahagilap ngayon ang kapatid ni Draia.

A part of me admit that I am the one who are to blame. Maybe he got mad because of what he saw? But it could be also possibly not! Pero kung hindi siya galit sa akin, bakit hindi na siya tumawag o nag text man lang pagkatapos niyang mag U-turn? Gaya nang nakita ni secretary Kim at nang nakita ko rin sa CCTV kaninang umaga.

"I'm sorry. I'm just worried," paumanhin ko sa mga sumasama sa akin. "And frustrated..." dugtong ko at nanghihinang napaupo sa couch.

Draia smiled sadly at me. Alam kong kagabi ko pa sila naabala kaya hindi ko maiwasang magpasalamat sa aking isip.
