Zeke lies before me on the cart, bloody and battered. Levi has pure rage in his eyes with a little bit of lingering sadness. Having to kill his comrades wouldn't have been easy because it wasn't easy for me and I barely knew them.
Rain falls from the sky, soaking my clothing. I don't care anymore. All I want to do is rip this piece of trash, lying beneath me, to bits.
"You disgusting bastard." I spit at him, kicking him hard in the stomach.
Blood splatters from his mouth. Levi makes no attempt to stop me.
"I thought I could trust you. You really just tried to get me killed, did you even consider my son for a moment?" I yell.
He looks up at me. "You were never a part of the plan. You got in the way and as for your son, he should've never been born. Look at this life you've brought him into. War, hatred, this isn't a life for a child."
I go to kick him again and Levi stops me this time. I shoot him a glare but his eyes are focused on Zeke below us.
"I think it's time to cut his limbs back again." He states raising his blade.
A bright light catches us off guard and we are blown back off the cart. My body collides with the ground, hard. The air is knocked from my lungs and I lay broken, barely breathing.
My head rolls to the side and I stare at where the cart had been. It was an explosion as Zeke lies not far from me. Behind him, a titan approaches him. I try to sit up and my body collapses back down in the dirt.
I watch helplessly as the titan tears its stomach open, placing Zeke inside. That bastard. I try to look around me in search of Levi.
His body lies lifeless only metres from me, I muster whatever energy I have left and drag myself over to him. He is badly injured. Pressing two fingers to the side of his neck, there is a pulse. I sigh, dropping my head onto his shoulder.
The darkness engulfs me.
Something touches me and I lurch forward, ready to fight. Hanji crouches in front of me with a look of concern.
"Thank goodness, you're alive." She sighs before embracing me tightly.
I push her back and start to look for Levi. "Where is he, Hanji?" I snap. "Where's Levi?"
She takes me by the shoulders, holding me still. "He is alive, not doing so well but still alive." She shuffles to the side.
Levi lies on a small cart, bandaged up, and secured safely. A sigh of relief leaves me, he's still here, he's still alive. I look down at myself, my hand has almost regenerated and I can see a foot now on my leg.
"I need to leave as soon as I can," I tell Hanji.
She nods. "I understand but be prepared for chaos when you get back to those walls. A lot has happened since you left."
"The message did get back to us. Is Jean alright? Have you heard anything about Marco?" I ask.
"Jean was fine when I left. He's a strong soldier (y/n), I believe Jean can live through anything. He's smart." She reassures me. "As for your son, I hadn't heard anything before I left. He should be fine."
I nod my head, focusing on the ground. "Okay, well as soon as I'm ready, he's the first one I'm going to get. I'm not going to let anything happen to him or Jean."
Hanji helps me over to the cart where Levi is. The plan is to get him somewhere safe and out of the open. Somewhere she can fix up his wounds.
By the time we find somewhere, my hand and foot have regenerated. I stare down at Levi who is still unconscious, I don't want to leave his side. If he is to die I want to be there by his side in his last moments but I also have other people depending on me.
