Charles couldn’t take this anymore, he couldn’t just marry her in an instant because he knew it would be hellish for him to live and it would drive him crazy.
He was on their room, he locked the doors and he was just sitting on the bed, staring at the floor with his emotionless eyes. This was never the life he wanted but at that time of that decision, he was weak and was left like this, away from the woman he really loves the most.
Charles slowly raised his head and wiped the lone tear that fell on his eyes with the back of his hand after he reminisced those wonderful moments of his life that he would not experience again because of the path he chose, so he regret it a lot until now.
He suddenly stood up and walked towards the door and open it slowly to peek on what’s outside. He wanted to leave this mansion, so every night, thoughts of escaping always invades his mind.
No guards, no one’s outside..
he looked on the other side again and no one was still there so he closed his eyes for a bit to think of a plan.
Since there’s no guards, I think it would be a good time to escape, I’ll just stay quiet..
He closed the door first and clenched his fist. “You can do this Charles, your life is depending here so it’s now or never.” He mumbled to himself and took an encouraging sigh.
Charles pulled up his sleeves and fixed himself to prepare on going out of the room. He assumed that all the guards are outside and Valeria will be home later, he also studied the whole house and where could be a great place to escape so he thinks that this will be a great timing.
After he got out of the room, he started to sharpen his sight and be alert of what might happen, he then walked slowly and assured that no sound will be heared while he’s walking. The whole area was empty and the hallway was dead silent, he crouched a little while he walks towards the room at the end.
The room in the end was the only way he thinks where he could escape towards the back garden because that room's window has an access to the back part of the mansion.
While he was walking, he suddenly heard some men coming towards the room he left a while ago, inayos niya ang kaniyang katawan at umaktong lumalakad na lamang sa hallway at tumitingin sa mga paintings na nakasabit sa mga haligi.
The two men caught him far from them so they immediately come towards him and asked him. “Señorito, pardon to ask but why are you here?” Charles put both of his hands at his back and stared at them with his chin being raised.
“I just want to smell some fresh air, but since she don’t want me to go out, I will be stuck by here..so fucking leave me alone or I will leave the both of you catching your breaths.” He threatened them with his contorted face so those men pressed their lips and left him silently after they apologized.
Charles just face palmed and massaged his temples before waiting the men to left the hallway surely. “Fuck this, I need to leave fast.”
He went inside of the room, grabbed the bed sheet on the bed beside him and came towards the window to tie it from the built in cabinet near it and let it down, enough to reach the ground below.
He gazed on the window first if there are some guards roaming around so he sighed with relief when there was none. Charles quickly grabbed at the sheet tightly as he go down, he sweats a lot but he didn’t mind it and just focus on his escape.
