ROSANNA CASTILLO:

"Not this time Rose, maybe some other time." Rosanna's mother told her before she held her papers back to the table, inked the quill and came back to her writings.

Rosanna's life was not ordinary just like the other ones here at Manervas, her life was different and she looks at it as just a waste of time. She envy those girls who are the same age as her playing all around and hanging out with their friends because she was not loke that. She was afraid to have friends and her mind was too occupied of their own life. They were raised from poverty through her father's hard work and her mother's intellegence until they came up on a small business which is to sold some gunpowder.

It was full of perseverance indeed so that's why, at a young age, she couldn't have some quality time with her parents. Kahit sa pagsama nila sa hapagkainan ay hindi na nagawa araw-araw, she was left all alone as always.

In her school she was always been bullied as the 'poor scary girl', as showned on her introverted attitude and her lifestyle, it was a dreadful past for Rosanna but she tried her best to avert it. All she did was to study really hard, the reason... is for her parents and for own self to rise.

She wanted to help them to raise their business so that they could be rich and not be treated again like some poor people the townsmen can call every single day. Lahat ng sakit, lahat ng sinasabi at pambabato ng salita ng mga tao sa paligid nila ay binalewala niya para lamang umangat siya at makatikim ng karangyaan sa buhay.

Her dreadful days continued until she had that moment where she was about to give up. Being treated like this was not easy for her especially being hurt physically by some bystanders along the way to their house.

"Why? Why do I have to live in this kind of life? Ayoko na...tama na ang sakit na." she looked upon the dark rainy skies as she questioned her life.

The hard rain keeps on pouring from the dark sky, her body was filled with sticky mud because of her classmates. They pushed her multiple times and her dress, was being ripped apart like she was being harassed or something just so they can have a laugh at.

When she came home, her whole body crumbled. She saw her mother filled with some rotten tomatoes,wounds all over her pale skin and crying over her father's shoulder.

"What happened papá?" she asked her father, tears forming on her own eyes.

"She was being called a fraud by an unsatisfied customer until the townspeople joined in...this is too much, I want to rage!"

"Lumino no, por favor, even if we fought back, we're still weak...we don't have any power to do so! Can't you see, life can be hard if we keep on living like this!" her mother raised her voice with her tears quickly falling down from her eyes.

Rosanna just stared at them, it aches her heart to see both of her own parents being like this. Tears didn' hold back and it begun to run down from his cheeks hanggang sa tumakbo na lamang siya papunta sa kaniyang ina at ama bago niyakap sila ng mahigpit.

"Don't mind those evil creatures mamá...Hayaan mo...dadating rin ang panahon na aahon tayo at gagawin ko ang lahat kahit ang sarili ko mismo ay ibibigay ko basta mabigyan lang tayo ng pamumuhay kung saan ang lahat ng tao ay tumitingala sa atin." Ang kaniyang boses ay nanginginig na ngayon dahil sa galit at hinagpis mula sa kaniyang sarili at sa kaniyang pamilya na dumadanas ng ganito ngayon.
